Bhuvan Bam spoke in detail about playing Rash Behari Bose. He said the historical figure was a “behrupiya” or master of disguise. Since very little archival material exists about Bose’s personal life, Bam had the freedom to build the character from instinct.
“Rash Behari was a ‘behrupiya’, a master of disguise who infiltrated British camps. Because so little archival material exists about him, I had the freedom to build him from instinct, and Nikkhil sir’s clarity and conviction gave me the confidence to explore that mystery.”
He also expressed gratitude to director Nikkhil Advani for his guidance. Bam said the director’s clear vision helped him explore the character’s mystery.
Rohit Saraf Calls It an Honour to Play Sachindra Nath Sanyal
Rohit Saraf shared his experience of playing Sachindra Nath Sanyal. He said the role pushed him physically and emotionally beyond his comfort zone. The actor was drawn to the contrast between Sanyal’s childlike innocence and his strong political conviction.
“Playing Sachindra Nath gave me the opportunity to step into a world that was completely new, both physically and emotionally. While it is an honour to portray a real-life hero from India’s fight for freedom, what stayed with me was his childlike innocence paired with an unshakeable conviction; qualities that make him remarkably relatable even today.”
Saraf mentioned that the role required intensive training, allowing him to push himself far beyond his usual limits.
Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada on Their Roles
Pratibha Ranta, who plays Pratibha Lahiri, said her character’s struggle to find her voice in a male-dominated world still feels relevant today.
“Pratibha Lahiri is a young, progressive woman fighting to be heard in a world shaped by men, and that struggle still feels relevant today. That’s what drew me to her.”
Gurfateh Pirzada, who plays Bagha Jatin, said the show introduced him to a lesser-known chapter of Indian history.
“Stepping into The Revolutionaries introduced me to a chapter of our history I knew very little about. What stayed with me about Bagha Jatin was his quiet strength, controlled aggression, and the weight behind every word he spoke.”
