BIGBANG is getting ready for their 20th debut anniversary with a special surprise for VIPs. On August 5 at midnight KST, YG Entertainment dropped a teaser video for the group’s new official light stick. The 20th-anniversary edition arrives as the group prepares for their upcoming world tour.
The teaser, shared through YG SELECT official channel, carries the title “BIGBANG OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION – THE LIGHT RETURNS”. The video gives fans a first look at the upgraded design of the iconic crown-shaped light stick. This new version comes just in time for the group’s “XX : COSMOS” world tour, which kicks off later this month.
New Light Stick Design Shows Upgraded Crown Shape
The teaser video presents a futuristic visual that traces BIGBANG’s journey over the past two decades. The new light stick features a refined and luminous design that reworks the famous golden crown. According to reports, the design shows a sophisticated look with a translucent white crown head, silver chrome edging, and a metallic gold copper center with engraved details. The handle comes in a dark gray titanium tone with matching gold buttons.
The light stick carries the special title “THE LIGHT RETURNS”. This name connects to BIGBANG’s return to the stage after nearly nine years. The group last held a concert tour in 2017 with the “LAST DANCE TOUR”. Since then, members have completed military service and the group reunited for a performance at Coachella 2026 earlier this year.
Light Stick Arrives Ahead of BIGBANG 2026 World Tour
BIGBANG’s new light stick drops as the group prepares for their massive 2026-2027 world tour. The “XX : COSMOS” tour will cover 31 concerts across 18 cities worldwide. The tour starts in Goyang, South Korea, from August 21 to 23. After that, the tour moves to North America, Europe, Oceania, Japan, and other Asian regions. The tour will continue through February 2027.

On August 19 at 8 PM KST, the “BIGBANG Concert Hangang Free Event” will take place at the Mulbit Stage in Yeouido Han River Park, Seoul. The event will feature DJ performances of BIGBANG’s hit songs, a 20-year history video, media art showing the BIGBANG universe, and drone and fireworks shows.
This free event gives fans who cannot attend the ticketed concerts a chance to celebrate with the group. The event combines music, visuals, and memories to mark this important milestone.
Media Exhibition COSMOS Also Coming
BIGBANG also announced a media exhibition called “BIGBANG 20TH ANNIVERSARY MEDIA EXHIBITION COSMOS”. The exhibition will tell the group’s 20-year story through a prequel and main exhibition. It starts at Lotte World Tower Jamsil with the “PREQUEL EXHIBITION”. The exhibition will then move to an underground space near City Hall Station called “City Hall Fun Station – dududo”.
