Bigg Boss 20 contestant Rhiti Tiwari‘s comments about her financial struggles have sparked a row outside the house. Punjabi singer Ekam Bawa, who says he is the former partner of Rhiti’s mother Rani Tiwari, has challenged her claim that she receives a monthly allowance of ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 from her father, actor-politician Manoj Tiwari. Bawa alleged in an Instagram video that Rhiti owns handbags worth ₹4-5 lakh, drives a Range Rover, runs a sports company, and has properties in Mumbai. These claims have not been independently verified.
What Rhiti Said on Bigg Boss 20
Rhiti Tiwari spoke about her finances during a recent episode of the reality show. She told fellow contestants that her father gives her a monthly allowance of around ₹20,000 to ₹25,000. She also recalled times when she had to be careful with money. “Sometimes I would eat two ₹10 vada pavs a day just to fill my stomach,” she said. “I would put in just ₹500 worth of diesel in my car when needed.”
Her remarks drew attention online. Many viewers questioned how someone in her position could describe herself as struggling. NDTV reported that she was called the “new nepo struggler in the market” on social media. The conversation about her allowance became a talking point beyond the show.
Ekam Bawa’s Allegations
Ekam Bawa responded to Rhiti’s claims in a video shared on Instagram. He questioned how she could talk about financial hardship while, according to him, having access to expensive things. “Jiske paas ₹4-5 lakh ke handbags ho… Uske baad aapke paas badi badi gadiya hai. Range Rovers ka toh ₹2.5-3 lakh ka kharcha hai khali. Aap ₹25,000 keh rahe ho?” he said. This translates to: “Someone who owns handbags worth ₹4-5 lakh… and then you have big cars. Just maintaining a Range Rover costs ₹2.5-3 lakh. And you’re talking about ₹25,000?”
Bawa also claimed that Rhiti owns a sports company with a large turnover and links to well-known cricketers. “Sports company hai aapki, jiska itna bada turnover hai ki collectors ka naam bhi juda hai uske sath. Kitne saal se chal rahi hai? Woh bhi toh paisa aapke paas aata hai. Kahan jaata hai? Bombay me bhi toh bade bade flats hai; woh kaha se aaya?” he said. This means: “You own a sports company with such a large turnover that even collectors are associated with it. How many years has it been running? That money comes to you, too. Where does it go? You have big flats in Bombay as well; where did the money for those come from?”
Bawa also said he lived with Rhiti and her mother in the same flat from 2020 to 2025. He claimed he and Rani were in a live-in relationship from 2020 to 2022 before getting married on February 18, 2022. He shared photos with Rani and Rhiti as proof of his connection to the family. He also criticized Rhiti’s behaviour on the show.
Who Is Ekam Bawa
Ekam Bawa is a Punjabi singer. He identifies himself as Rhiti’s former stepfather. His relationship with Rani Tiwari ended, and he now speaks about it publicly. He also mentioned Rhiti’s recent clash with Qazi Touqeer on Bigg Boss 20. Bawa said he is unhappy with how Rhiti has conducted herself inside the house.
The Diss Battle Controversy
Rhiti Tiwari has faced backlash for her remarks during a “Diss Battle” task on the show. She used offensive language against co-contestant Uditi Singh and took a dig at Qazi Touqeer. Rhiti Tiwari’s Family Background
Rhiti is the daughter of Manoj Tiwari and his former wife Rani Tiwari. Manoj Tiwari is a BJP MP and a well-known actor in Hindi and Bhojpuri cinema. He married Rani in 1999. They filed for divorce in 2011, and it was finalized in 2012. Rhiti said on the show that her father fought for her custody and hoped to reconcile with her mother. “I think my dad hoped for a long time that they would get back together,” she said. Manoj Tiwari remarried in 2020 to Surabhi.
Rani Tiwari is a dietician and lives with Rhiti in Mumbai. Rhiti has spoken about her bond with her father on the show. She said she taught him English during their meetings and that they built a friendly relationship over time.
