Netizens think she picked quality of production over lyrics.
BLACKPINK Lisa‘s lyrics for “Rockstar” come under intense criticism.
On June 28, Lisa finally released the track and video “Rockstar.” As expected from the teasers, the video was on a huge scale, with so much going on to showcase Lisa’s unreal performance skills and impact.
Sadly, after the song was released, its lyrics were seriously criticized.
One OP revealed that while they were obsessed with the music video and thought it was perfection, the lyrics didn’t match the impact of the video. They also added that considering the song is only two minutes, it just felt underwhelming.
In the comments, most netizens seemed to agree. While they couldn’t fault the scale of production for the music video or how Lisa presented herself in the song, they didn’t understand the repetitiousness of the lyrics.
Lisa has undoubtedly made a huge impact with the music video for “Rockstar,” but it seems like the essence of the song hasn’t received the same positive reaction.
