BTS member J-Hope recently attended the Louis Vuitton Menโs Spring/Summer 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week on June 24, 2025. His stylish appearance sparked online backlash, with some netizens accusing him of copying BIGBANGโs G-Dragon. Fans quickly defended him, calling the criticism unfair and forced.
J-Hope arrived in Paris on June 23 and was seen wearing a casual tracksuit before changing into a sleek Louis Vuitton outfit for the main event. As a brand ambassador, he sat in the front row, wearing a silver-embellished suit, white shirt, pale pink tie, and a pink LV tote bag. Videos of him entering the venue went viral, leading to comparisons with G-Dragon.
Critics pointed out similarities in J-Hopeโs Instagram monochrome posts, his walking style (keeping his head down), and accessories, claiming he was imitating G-Dragon. Some even linked it to G-Dragonโs recent appearance on TWICE Sanaโs talk show. However, fans argued that these comparisons were exaggerated.
“Hoseok hate is genuinely so forced and so unserious. You tell me you hate J-Hope, and I know you have no love in your heart,” wrote an X user. Another fan added, “J-Hope has been like this. Itโs giving โI saw two people wear black, so one copied the otherโ energy.” Many noted that J-Hopeโs fashion sense comes from his street dance and hip-hop background, not imitation.
Supporters also highlighted that J-Hopeโs stage name was inspired by J. Cole, not G-Dragon. “The โJโ in J-Hope isnโt just for Jung Hoseok; itโs also a nod to J. Cole,” a fan explained. Others dismissed the backlash, saying black-and-white photos and confident walking styles are common in the industry.
Despite the criticism, J-Hopeโs Paris Fashion Week appearance was widely praised. He interacted with stars like Gong Yoo and enjoyed music by AR Rahman during the show. His latest single, “Killinโ It Girl” featuring GloRilla, also topped global charts, debuting at No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
