These episodes take the K-drama in a bold new direction. The story moves the characters to Italy and shifts its focus from a romantic misunderstanding to a deeper exploration of Cha Mu-heeโs trauma. Fans watched as the showโs tone changed, introducing more psychological and dramatic elements.
Do Ra-mi Takes Center Stage
Episode 7 begins with tensions high after the leads’ breakup in Canada. Joo Ho-jin acts coldly towards Cha Mu-hee, but their connection pulls them back together during a concert in Korea. In a key moment, Mu-hee uses a metaphor about food to tell Ho-jin she wants to try their relationship again. Meanwhile, Mu-heeโs manager, Kim Yong-u, and the show’s producer, Shin Ji-seon, share an unexpected kiss, starting a new romantic subplot.
The episodeโs biggest twist happens during a photoshoot for Mu-hee. Overwhelmed by flashbacks to a childhood trauma involving her parents, Mu-hee closes her eyes. When she opens them, her personality has completely changed. She introduces herself to a confused Ho-jin as Do Ra-mi, the fictional zombie character Mu-hee famously portrayed in a film. This moment marks a major turn in the story.
Navigating a New Reality in Italy
In Episode 8, Do Ra-mi is fully in control. She warns Mu-heeโs aunt and uncle not to interfere in her life and even drugs Ho-jinโs water to make him pass out. Ho-jin slowly realizes he is not speaking to Mu-hee, but to a different persona who has taken over. Do Ra-mi explains she acts to protect Mu-hee and do what she thinks will make her happy.
The entire cast travels to Italy to continue filming the reality dating show Romantic Trip. By day, Mu-hee films with Japanese actor Hiro Kurosawa. At night, Do Ra-mi emerges. Ho-jin secretly follows Do Ra-mi around Italy to keep her out of trouble, which leads other crew members to mistakenly think he has an Italian girlfriend. In a calculated move, Do Ra-mi invites Hiro to meet her in Italy, setting up a complex love triangle. The episode ends with Ho-jin watching Hiro and Mu-hee together, unsure of how to proceed.
Secrets and Emotional Revelations
Episode 9 continues the Italy shoot, blending romance with mystery. Ho-jin spends his evenings with Do Ra-mi, trying to understand why she exists. She reveals that Mu-hee is haunted by a terrible secret from her past but refuses to give details. In a touching scene, Do Ra-mi asks Ho-jin to help Mu-hee look good in front of Hiro, showing her protective side.
The episode also explores Ho-jinโs family history. The show’s crew changes filming locations to a winery, which is revealed to belong to Ho-jinโs mother, from whom he has been estranged for 13 years. In a lighter moment, a restaurant server tells Ho-jin that Do Ra-mi has been drawing four-leaf clovers on napkins for good luck. The emotional core of the episode comes when Do Ra-mi finally confesses Mu-heeโs trauma to Ho-jin: her mother poisoned her father and then tried to kill Mu-hee on her birthday. Moved by this, Ho-jin hugs Ra-mi, who then begs him to leave Mu-hee for her own good.

Confronting the Past and a Final Confession
Episode 10 brings several storylines to a head. Mu-hee helps Ho-jin reconcile with his mother at her wedding, mending their long-broken relationship. Hiro makes a dramatic, televised confession of love to Mu-hee, which Ho-jin is forced to translate. After the shoot, a producer sends Mu-hee a video of Ho-jin crying alone, finally revealing the depth of his feelings for her.
This triggers Mu-heeโs full memory of her time as Do Ra-mi. She remembers that Ho-jin knew her deepest secret and still cared for her. She finds him and admits she still has strong feelings for him but is scared he knows too much. In a clever and understanding move, Ho-jin suggests they date with a promise to break up in a month, removing the pressure of “forever” that terrifies Mu-hee.
โIโm coming up with a plan so that you donโt reject me again because you are anxious,โ Ho-jin tells her with a smile.
The episode ends with them sharing a kiss, finally united. In a final twist, Mu-hee learns her parents might still be alive, setting up her journey for closure in the final episodes.
