Netflix has released the first official trailer for the new Korean romantic comedy Can This Love Be Translated? starring Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung. The series will premiere globally on the streaming platform on January 16, 2026.
The trailer introduces the story of a top actress and the multilingual interpreter assigned to her, showing a romance that faces the challenge of being understood. Created by the famous writing duo known as the Hong Sisters and directed by Yoo Young-eun, the show promises a mix of humor, scenic global backdrops, and the question of whether love needs a translator.
What the New Trailer Shows Us
The newly released preview opens by establishing the two lead characters and their different worlds. Kim Seon-ho plays Ju Ho-jin, a skilled interpreter fluent in multiple languages. Go Youn-jung is Cha Mu-hee, an actress who has become a major global star.
Scenes show Ho-jin beginning his job as Mu-hee’s personal interpreter, accompanying her to international events and film sets. The early dynamic appears professional, with moments of clear misunderstanding as they navigate their working relationship.
The series asks if accurate translation is just about words, or if it requires relaying the feeling and intention behind them.
As the trailer continues, the tone shifts. Viewers see the pair traveling together to beautiful locations, sharing lighter moments, and gradually growing closer. The footage suggests their professional boundary starts to blur, leading to confusion and mixed signals. The central question posed is whether two people can truly understand each other’s hearts when they come from such different lives.
Meet the Cast and Creative Team
The series brings together a popular actor and a rising star. Kim Seon-ho is well-known for his roles in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and Start-Up. Go Youn-jung has gained recognition for her performances in Sweet Home and Alchemy of Souls.

The story comes from the minds of Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran, popularly called the Hong Sisters. They are the celebrated writers behind hit series like Hotel del Luna and Alchemy of Souls. Director Yoo Young-eun, known for Bloody Heart, leads the project.
