Crunchyroll has expanded its summer 2026 anime slate with several new additions. The streaming service confirmed on Tuesday that it will add One Piece Heroines, BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita, The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects, and other titles to its upcoming schedule. These shows join a packed season that already includes major series like Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3, Black Torch, and Tomb Raider King.
One Piece Heroines Brings Nami and Robin to the Spotlight
One Piece Heroines arrives on July 5, 2026, and focuses on the popular character Nami in a new original story. The special episode puts the Straw Hat Pirates’ navigator at the center of an adventure where she tries to solve a problem involving a pair of shoes that do not fit correctly, which leads her to find the designer for answers.
The production brings a fresh creative team to the One Piece universe. Haruka Kamatai directs the project at Toei Animation, with Takashi Kojima handling character design and Momoka Toyoda writing the script. Maaya Sakamoto and Takehito Koyasu join the voice cast as new characters Miucha and Lubun.
Unlike the original novel that only featured Nami, the anime adaptation will include Nico Robin as part of the story. The special airs during a one-week break from the main One Piece anime, which returns with Episode 1169 on July 12, 2026. Fans on forums expressed excitement about the release, with one user on Anime News Network’s forum saying, “Glad to see One Piece Heroines will be streamed on Crunchyroll.”
BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita Launches on July 2
BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita is set to stream starting July 2, 2026, as part of the popular multimedia franchise. The new anime project highlights the band Mugendai Mewtype and follows five talented girls who come together to form a band.
The story focuses on these characters, each with unique personalities and abilities, who must learn to work together despite being completely unbalanced as a group. The series will stream in its original Japanese language with German subtitles on Crunchyroll. A forum user noted that the BanG Dream! announcement seemed like “a given” for the platform, though they were unsure why the news came later than other lineup announcements.
The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects Adds to Fantasy Slate
The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects is now confirmed for Crunchyroll’s summer schedule. The fantasy series follows Dias, a war hero who returns home after decades of battle and receives a domain as a reward, only to discover it is an empty plain with no residents.
The anime, which was first announced in July 2025, features Kenichirō Matsuda as Dias and Shion Wakayama as Alna, a horned girl who helps him learn how to build a life in his new territory. Kenichi Imaizumi, known for his work on Kingdom seasons 3-6, directs the series at animation studio42. Kunihiko Okada handles series composition, and Keiichi Tsuboyama serves as character designer.
The light novel series by Fuurou has sold over two million copies. J-Novel Club publishes both the novel and manga adaptation in English, describing it as a “slow-life fantasy” about a soldier learning to become a ruler.
