Dandadan fans are waiting for the next chapter of Yukinobu Tatsu‘s hit manga, and the release schedule has been shifting in recent months. The series is currently on a break, so Chapter 249 does not have a confirmed release date yet.
The manga last updated with Chapter 248, which arrived on October 13, 2026. Since then, no new chapter has been published on Shōnen Jump+ or Manga Plus.
Why There Is No Release Date for Chapter 249
Dandadan has been on an unscheduled break after Chapter 248. Author Yukinobu Tatsu has taken similar breaks before to maintain the quality of the story and artwork.
“I want to make sure fans get the best reading experience,” Tatsu said in an official statement about a previous hiatus.
The manga has had several short breaks in 2026. A one-month hiatus took place in April 2026, with the series returning on May 5, 2026. Another break happened after Chapter 182 in early 2025.
No official announcement has been made about when Chapter 249 will arrive. Shueisha typically announces return dates on the Shōnen Jump+ app and the official Dandadan social media accounts.
When New Dandadan Chapters Usually Come Out
Dandadan normally publishes new chapters on Tuesdays in Japan. The series runs on Shōnen Jump+, Shueisha’s digital manga platform.
For international readers, the English version arrives at the same time on Manga Plus and the Shōnen Jump app by Viz Media. New chapters usually go live at these times:
- Japan (JST): Tuesday at 12:00 AM
- USA (EST): Monday at 11:00 AM
- USA (PST): Monday at 8:00 AM
- UK (GMT): Monday at 4:00 PM
- India (IST): Monday at 8:30 PM

What Happened in Recent Chapters
Chapter 248, titled “How to Defeat a Kaiju,” focused on a team-up between Vamola, Aira, and Jiji. The chapter showed the three characters working together to take down a giant monster.
The fight used Jiji’s Evil Eye powers in a new way. Vamola and Aira combined their abilities with Jiji’s to deliver a powerful attack.
Jiji’s character has grown a lot in this arc. The Evil Eye spirit inside him has become more cooperative, which surprised many readers. The chapter ended with the monster defeated, but larger threats are still on the way.
The current arc follows the Six Curses Arc, where Momo Ayase lost her memories of the supernatural and her bond with Okarun. The story has been building toward a major confrontation.
Volume 26 Is Coming in November
While the weekly chapters are on hold, the next collected volume is on the way. Dandadan Volume 26 is scheduled for release on November 4, 2026, in Japan.
This volume will collect recent chapters, including the events of the current arc. Volume 25 was released on September 4, 2026, and it is available now.
International release dates for Volume 26 have not been announced yet. Viz Media typically releases English volumes about 6 to 10 months after the Japanese release. Volume 19 of the English edition is set to arrive on June 9, 2026.

Manga Plus by Shueisha is the main platform for reading Dandadan in English, Spanish, French, Thai, and Vietnamese. The app is free and offers the newest chapters at the same time as Japan.
Viz Media’s Shōnen Jump website also carries the series in English for readers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and India.
Physical volumes are published by Viz Media in English and by Shueisha in Japanese. Readers in India can find digital chapters on Manga Plus and buy physical volumes through major online bookstores.
