The Force Edge Saga Will End With Paradiso

Showrunner Adi Shankar revealed that the show’s three-season structure was always planned this way. He explained that the series follows the pattern of Dante’s Divine Comedy. Season 1 represented Inferno, Season 2 represented Purgatorio, and Season 3 will be Paradiso.

“For those of you who have been paying attention to the episode names, I have been showing you the structure the entire time. This was always Dante’s Divine Comedy with guns and a red coat. Season 1 was Inferno. Season 2 was Purgatorio. Season 3 will be Paradiso. These three seasons make up ‘The Force Edge Saga.’ Since inception, ‘The Force Edge Saga’ was designed as a movie trilogy disguised as a television series.” – Adi Shankar

How Season 2 Set Up the Final Chapter

The second season ended with major story developments that need answers. Dante and Vergil faced off against Arius and Mundus. Dante lost to Vergil, who became stronger through training under Mundus. Vergil was then seen fighting against Mundus, who was exposed as the true killer of the brothers’ mother. Lady also discovered in the season two finale that her demonic father Arkham was actually the villainous Jester.

No Release Date Yet for Season 3

Netflix has not announced a specific release date for Devil May Cry Season 3. The show received an early renewal, similar to Season 2 which was confirmed shortly after Season 1 dropped.
