What Happened in Episode 4 of Dr. Stone: Science Future Part 3
Episode 4, which aired on April 23, 2026, focused heavily on the relationship between Sai Nanami and Ryuusui Nanami. While Taiju Oki and Yuzuriha Ogawa traveled back to North America to revive more petrified people, Senku worked on building a computer from scratch. Sai successfully retrieved full machine code from his memory, allowing the team to build a basic working circuit for the first time in 3,700 years.
The group later created a fax machine. The first fax transmitted a photograph of the entire team from America to India. When Ryuusui and Sai saw the picture, both brothers went quiet. Gen Asagiri noticed their reaction and later spoke with Sai privately. Chelsea also asked Sai directly if he had any bad memories associated with group photos.
Sai explained that neither he nor Ryuusui had ever been in family photographs while growing up. The Nanami family did not treat Sai like a true member, leaving both brothers with complicated feelings about belonging. Later that night, Sai and Ryuusui sat across from each other at a chessboard. Ryuusui told his younger brother plainly that he belonged on the ship as a core crew member.
The next morning, Sai decided to join the Perseus crew. The two brothers finally cleared the air about their past.
