A new documentary about Elizabeth Holmes has arrived with a trailer that has viewers talking. The film, titled You Can See Everything, was made in secret by comedian Nathan Fielder and filmmaker Lance Oppenheim. The teaser shows Holmes staring intensely at Fielder while insisting she is not lying. A behavior analyst who watched the clip says her deception cannot be easily decoded because she shows traits of a psychopath.
What the Trailer Shows
The You Can See Everything trailer runs just over a minute. It was filmed 34 days before Holmes reported to prison in 2023. In the clip, Holmes sits close to Fielder inside her Southern California home. She tells him, “I don’t have anything to deceive you on. Of course, I’m not deceiving you. I’m engaging with you as a human being. Why would I deceive you? There’s no reason for me to do that.” Fielder asks, “You’re being real right now?” Holmes replies, “I’m always being real.” The camera then pans out to show Holmes rocking her baby’s bouncer with her foot while speaking.
Behavior Analyst Explains the Unsettling Stare
Body language expert and behavior analyst Scott Rouse spoke to NewsNation’s Jesse Weber about the trailer. Rouse said, “It’s hard to tell if she’s being deceitful or not. However, in my opinion, it looks to me like we’re dealing with a psychopath looking at her history.” Rouse pointed to Holmes’ unflinching eye contact as the key reason the scene feels so uncomfortable. He explained, “That’s why she has that eye lock so hard on him, because we’re actually seeing in real time the psychopath’s stare. They don’t feel weird about staring at you and looking at you and not looking away.”
Rouse has decades of experience studying nonverbal communication. He holds certifications in advanced interrogation methods and has trained with the Department of Defense, FBI, U.S. Military Intelligence, and Secret Service. He said Holmes’ brain may function differently because the amygdala and other parts of the limbic system do not connect properly with the rest of the brain. This makes psychopaths act in ways that feel unnatural to others, including their ability to stare without discomfort.
Other Experts Share Their Views
More body language experts have weighed in on the trailer. Susan Constantine, who spent years watching Holmes, told the New York Post that Holmes shows “massive clusters of deception.” Constantine said, “She’s got laser-focused eye contact, wide-eyed, no blinking – not even a little blinking… It’s like a stalker stare, which is what everybody is talking about.” She also noted Holmes’ raised eyebrows and wide smile, which she called “duping delight” – the smile a person shows when they feel they are getting away with a lie.
Psychologist and body language expert Christina Marz told RadarOnline that the clip is “disturbing to watch.” Marz said the combination of Holmes’ words, facial expression, and the energetic rocking of the baby chair while not paying attention to the baby “make her look like a sociopath.” Patti Wood, a nonverbal communication expert, told HuffPost that Holmes’ eyebrows stay raised and her eyes stay wide throughout the clip. Wood said, “We know it’s not real. It’s not sincere. It’s deception.” Clinical psychologist Denise Dudley compared Holmes’ gaze to a childhood staring contest, calling it “intense” and outside the realm of good communication.

You Can See Everything premiered as a surprise screening at the Telluride Film Festival on September 6, 2026. The film was kept secret for over three years. Its official synopsis reads: “Thirty-four days before she’s sent to prison, notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move. What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss.” The film was produced by A24 and directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim. Fielder is known for Nathan For You and The Rehearsal, while Oppenheim directed Some Kind of Heaven.
Release Details
You Can See Everything will open in theaters in October 2026. A24 has not yet announced a specific release date. The film will be available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, and other global markets. Viewers should check local theater listings for exact showtimes. Early reviews have been strong. Variety called it “just about the furthest thing from a ‘pure’ documentary you’ve seen,” and Deadline reported it was “unlike any I have ever seen in terms of pure access.”
