What Happens With Teddy’s Wedding in Season 4?
Teddy sets a wedding date in the Season 4 premiere. The engagement happened in the Season 3 finale, and showrunner Jonathan Tolins told Give Me My Remote that the writers originally planned to end Season 3 with the wedding itself. It felt too soon, so the wedding storyline moves into Season 4. “Maybe we’ll get there in season 4?” Tolins said.
Carrie Preston told TV Insider that Elsbeth is “probably the happiest mother of the grooms-to-be.” She added:
“She is thrilled to be starting the planning of Teddy and Roy’s wedding. I’m sure she’s going to be a little bit more involved than Teddy would want, but she can’t help it.”
The wedding planning also brings dress code chaos. Preston said Elsbeth would likely choose sparkly and colorful dresses that clash with Teddy’s aesthetic. However, Elsbeth is willing to tone things down to keep her son and Roy happy. Preston also confirmed that Elsbeth’s dog Gonzo will be present at the wedding.
Teddy’s father, Mike Tascioni (Will Patton), could return. Tolins said the character is “alive in our universe” and called Patton “a fabulous actor,” though he admitted bringing him back would be tricky. “If Teddy gets married, I think we’d want to know what is his relationship with his father now?” Tolins said.
What Is the Major Precinct Reshuffle in Season 4?
Carrie Preston has confirmed a major shake-up inside the 11th Precinct. Speaking to TV Insider from the set, she said:
“There’s going to be a little bit of a shakeup in the precinct.”
The reshuffle is expected to challenge Captain C.W. Wagner, who has led the precinct as Elsbeth’s boss. The series enters its fourth season with “fresh cases, family drama, and new pressures on Elsbeth and the 11th Precinct,” according to CBS. Gloria Reuben returns as Claudia Payne, Wagner’s wife, which could add another layer to the precinct’s internal dynamics. Promotional images show Claudia and Wagner together at a charity event, suggesting the show will explore their social and philanthropic life more directly.
