Emraan Hashmi has achieved a massive career milestone with his latest release, Awarapan 2. The action thriller, which hit theatres on August 14, 2026, has crossed the ₹150 crore mark at the worldwide box office within just six days of its release. Despite a dip in daily collections on its sixth day, the film continues to dominate the box office and has now become the highest-grossing solo film of Hashmi’s career.
The sequel to the 2007 cult classic Awarapan opened to a strong response and has maintained its momentum throughout the week. With the film now entering its second weekend, all eyes are on whether it can sustain its impressive run and push towards the ₹200 crore milestone globally.
Awarapan 2 Box Office Collection Day 6
On Day 6 (Wednesday, August 19), Awarapan 2 earned ₹6.75 crore net in India, according to the latest figures from Sacnilk. In overseas markets, Awarapan 2 added ₹1.50 crore on Day 6, taking its total overseas gross to ₹25.30 crore. With these figures, the film’s worldwide gross collection has climbed to ₹153.59 crore.

Awarapan 2 Becomes Emraan Hashmi’s Highest-Grossing Solo Film
Awarapan 2 has now officially become Emraan Hashmi’s highest-grossing solo film of his career. The film crossed the ₹100 crore net mark in India on its fifth day, making it the actor’s first solo release to enter the prestigious ₹100 crore club.
Veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh commented on the film’s success, saying:
“#Awarapan2 is #EmraanHashmi’s first solo film to cross the Rs 100 cr milestone. #Awarapan2 enjoys an open run until #Toxic arrives [Wednesday; 26 Aug], giving it ample opportunity to accumulate an impressive total.”
The film’s success is even more notable given that the original Awarapan (2007) had a disastrous box office run, folding at just ₹7.75 crore net. Over the years, the original film developed a cult following, which has now translated into massive commercial success for its sequel.
Box Office Comparison: Awarapan 2 vs Other Emraan Hashmi Films
Awarapan 2 has not only surpassed Hashmi’s previous solo hits but has also outperformed several multi-starrer films in which he appeared. Here’s how the film stacks up against his other notable releases:
- The Dirty Picture (2011): ₹80 crore – Awarapan 2 crossed this lifetime total in just 3 days
- Baadshaho (2017): ₹78.10 crore – The multi-starrer with Ajay Devgn and Vidyut Jammwal is now far behind Hashmi’s solo success
- Raaz 3: The Third Dimension (2012): ₹70.07 crore – Previously Hashmi’s biggest solo hit, now eclipsed by Awarapan 2

- Murder 2 (2011): ₹47.90 crore
- Awarapan (2007): ₹7.75 crore – The original film’s lifetime collection
Awarapan 2 has also surpassed the lifetime collections of recent Bollywood releases like Alpha (₹99 crore) and Cocktail 2 (₹143 crore), both of which had larger production budgets.
Awarapan 2 Dominates Box Office Clash with Batwara 1947

The gap was even more evident in overseas markets, where Awarapan 2 added ₹1.50 crore on Day 6, compared to Batwara 1947‘s overseas gross of just ₹2.31 crore.
