Euphoria fans, listen up. The show’s creator Sam Levinson just shared some honest news about the future of the hit HBO series, and it might be the end of the road after Season 3.

Right now, everyone is talking about the show’s return. After four long years, Euphoria Season 3 is finally coming to screens on April 12, 2026. The cast just walked the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on April 7, looking stunning. But behind the glamour, Levinson is opening up about the heavy challenges of making this season and what happens next.

Sam Levinson Says He Has ‘No Plans’ for Another Season

The big question on every viewer’s mind is whether the show will continue after this new run. At the Season 3 premiere, Sam Levinson gave a clear answer. He told Variety that he currently has “no plans” for a Euphoria Season 4.

Levinson explained that he writes every single season like it is the last one. Right now, his brain is completely focused on finishing the current episodes the right way.

“I want to finish this as strong as I can. I’m cutting [episodes] seven and eight still. I’m putting some finishing touches. I just want to deliver a slam dunk season.”

He is not thinking about extending the story further. He just wants to make sure the third season lands perfectly with the audience.

Zendaya Believes ‘Closure Is Coming’ for the Series

Zendaya, who plays Rue, seems to be on the same page. She recently sat down with Drew Barrymore and shared her honest thoughts. When asked if this is the end, she did not hold back.

“I think so, yeah,” Zendaya said. She added that “that closure is coming” for the character and the story she has lived with for years. This marks a shift in how the cast is talking about the show. While HBO has not made an official announcement canceling the show, the main people behind it are preparing to say goodbye.

Dealing with Loss: How Tragedy Shaped Season 3

Making Euphoria Season 3 was not easy. The production faced two devastating losses. Angus Cloud, who played the fan-favorite Fezco, passed away in 2023. Eric Dane, who played Cal Jacobs, died in February after a battle with ALS.

Levinson got emotional talking about Angus Cloud. He loved him deeply and fought hard to help him. He used the new season to honor Cloud and keep his spirit alive through the story. “I wanted to deal with questions about faith, about a power greater than ourselves,” Levinson explained.

Regarding Eric Dane, Levinson shared a touching memory. Dane was already sick when he came to film. Levinson told him there was no pressure to be there, but Dane insisted, “I want to do this.” When Levinson noticed Dane’s speech was slurred, he adjusted the scene, putting beer bottles in front of him to make the dialogue work naturally. “He just showed up with such grace and dignity,” Levinson said.

The Season 3 Plot: A Five-Year Time Jump

So, what can you expect when the show returns? Euphoria Season 3 jumps five years ahead. The characters are no longer in high school. They are young adults dealing with real-world problems.

Rue (Zendaya) is working off her debt to the drug dealer Laurie. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are actually married and living in the suburbs. Jules (Hunter Schafer) is attending art school, while Maddy (Alexa Demie) is working at a talent agency in Hollywood.

The new season also brings in big new names. Sharon Stone, Rosalía, and Natasha Lyonne are joining the cast. The story will explore themes of faith, redemption, and the problem of evil, moving away from just high school drama.
