Evil Dead Burn is bringing its blood-soaked horror to your living room just before spooky season kicks into high gear. HBO Max has officially confirmed that the sixth film in the iconic Evil Dead franchise will begin streaming exclusively on Friday, October 2, 2026. That gives horror fans nearly a full month to fit it into their Halloween watchlists before October 31.
The film will also make its debut on HBO’s linear channel on Saturday, October 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET, following special showings of Evil Dead (2013) at 4:45 p.m. ET and Evil Dead Rise at 6:20 p.m. ET. For viewers in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, India, and around the world, HBO Max is the exclusive streaming home for the film’s global debut.
What Evil Dead Burn Is About
Evil Dead Burn follows a woman named Alice, played by Souheila Yacoub (known for Dune: Part Two), who seeks comfort from her late husband’s family after his death. The gathering at their secluded family home takes a horrifying turn when the family members are transformed into Deadites one by one, turning the reunion into a fight for survival.
The official synopsis describes it as “the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date,” with an all-new chapter of carnage and demonic mayhem. Alice comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on, even in death.
Who Stars in the Film
The cast includes Hunter Doohan (Wednesday, Daredevil: Born Again) as Joseph, Luciane Buchanan (The Night Agent) as Thya, Tandi Wright (Pearl) as Susan, Erroll Shand (Chief of War) as Edgar Price, George Pullar (It Only Takes a Night), and Maude Davey (The Newsreader).
The film is directed by Sébastien Vaniček, who co-wrote the screenplay with Florent Bernard. Vaniček previously directed the 2024 horror film Infested, which caught the attention of franchise creator Sam Raimi.
Box Office and Digital Release Before Streaming
Evil Dead Burn hit theaters on July 10, 2026, and made a solid $72.3 million worldwide against a $20 million budget. It earned $32.2 million domestically and $40 million internationally. The film scored generally positive reviews, with critics praising its scares and practical effects.
For those who prefer to own the film, it became available for premium digital rental and purchase on August 4, 2026, across platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango. Physical releases on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD arrived on September 22, 2026.

The Evil Dead franchise was created by Sam Raimi and began with The Evil Dead in 1981. The original trilogy starred Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, followed by Evil Dead II (1987) and Army of Darkness (1992).
