The hit MGM+ sci-fi horror series From returned on April 19, 2026, with a shocking season 4 premiere titled โ€œThe Arrival.โ€ The episode picked up right after season 3โ€™s devastating finale, showing the immediate aftermath of Jim Matthewsโ€™ death at the hands of the mysterious Man in the Yellow Suit.

The premiere did not hold back. Within the first hour, viewers saw Smiley return from the dead, Boyd lose all hope, and a new character named Sophia arrive in townโ€”only to reveal herself as the Man in the Yellow Suit in disguise. The episode set a dark, grim tone for the rest of the 10-episode season.

The Returning Cast Members of From Season 4

Most of the main cast from previous seasons returned for the season 4 premiere. These actors have been trapped in the nightmarish town since the beginning, and their characters continue to face new horrors.

Harold Perrineau leads the cast as Boyd Stevens, the townโ€™s sheriff and de facto leader. Perrineau is known for his roles in Smoke, 28 Weeks Later, Sons of Anarchy, and The Rookie. In episode 1, Boyd discovers that Smiley has come back to life after being born from Fatimaโ€™s mysterious pregnancy. This discovery breaks him. He tells Kenny there is no way to win and starts counting bullets so the townspeople can end their own lives before the creatures get them.

Catalina Sandino Moreno plays Tabitha Matthews, the mother of the Matthews family who briefly escaped the town in season 3. Moreno starred in Maria Full of Grace and Ballerina. In the premiere, Tabitha saves a girl named Sophia from a car crash using a Bible. She also struggles to tell her children that their father Jim is missing.

Eion Bailey appears as Jim Matthews, though his character died at the end of season 3. The premiere shows the Man in the Yellow Suit ripping Jimโ€™s throat out while his daughter Julie watches. Bailey is known for his work on Band of Brothers and Once Upon a Time.

David Alpay returns as Jade Herrera, the cynical businessman who arrived in town with the Matthews family. Alpay has appeared in The Tudors and The Vampire Diaries. In episode 1, Jade tells Tabitha they are reincarnated soulmates destined to save the children haunting the town. Tabitha tells him to keep this quiet for now.

Elizabeth Saunders plays Donna Raines, the tough leader of Colony House. Saunders has been in The Shrouds, Alias Grace, and Stephen Kingโ€™s It. Donna brings Kristi to check on Elgin after Sara pokes out his eye. She also lets Boyd stay at Colony House for the night despite her concerns about his recent actions.

Ricky He stars as Kenny Liu, Boydโ€™s loyal deputy. Ricky He is known for The Good Doctor and will appear in the upcoming 2026 film Rock Springs. In the premiere, Kenny follows Boyd into the tunnels and sees Smiley alive. He also gives Boyd the townโ€™s headcount: 47 people.

Scott McCord returns as Victor Kavanaugh, the mysterious man who has lived in the town longer than anyone else. McCord has appeared in FBI, The Sinner, and Charlotte.

Hannah Cheramy plays Julie Matthews, Jim and Tabithaโ€™s daughter. In the premiere, Julie watches her father die. She also seems to have developed a new power called โ€œstorywalking,โ€ which lets her jump between different moments in the townโ€™s timeline.

Simon Webster stars as Ethan Matthews, the youngest member of the Matthews family. Ethan directly asks his mother if Jim is dead after watching his sister and mother argue.

Pegah Ghafoori returns as Fatima Hassan, Ellisโ€™s wife who gave birth to a creature that became Smiley. Ghafoori is known for One Must Wash Eyes. Fatima tells Ellis and Kenny that she saw the creatures make a deal with something horrible to gain immortality.

Corteon Moore plays Ellis Stevens, Boydโ€™s son and Fatimaโ€™s husband. Moore has been in This Is Not a Test and Overcompensating.

Chloe Van Landschoot stars as Kristi Miller, the townโ€™s medical student who treats everyoneโ€™s injuries. She is known for Son of Sara: Volume 1 and Heirlooms. In episode 1, Kristi tends to Elginโ€™s destroyed eye and broken hand.

Avery Konrad returns as Sara Myers, the town resident plagued by hallucinations that made her kill her own brother. Konrad is known for Sacred Lies. In the premiere, Sara is the one who pokes out Elginโ€™s eye to get information about Fatimaโ€™s location. She sits in her bloodied clothes until Donna tells her to leave before others arrive.

Kaelen Ohm plays Marielle Sinclair, Kristiโ€™s partner and a former nurse. Ohm has appeared in Hit & Run and Last County.

Nathan D. Simmons stars as Elgin Williams, the young man who was manipulated by the Kimono Woman into hiding Fatima. Simmons has also starred in 0-60 Driving Academy. Elgin is in bad shape after the premiere. Boyd broke his hand with a hammer, and Sara destroyed his eye with pliers. Kristi tries to stitch him up, but his injuries are severe.

A.J. Simmons returns as Randall Kirkland, the tough survivor who arrived on the bus in season 2. Simmons has also been in Reacher and Slasher.

Robert Joy plays Henry Kavanaugh, Victorโ€™s father who arrived in town looking for his son. Joy is known for CSI: NY, Atlantic City, and The Institute.

Samantha Brown stars as Dani Acosta, a police officer who arrived in town at the end of season 3. Brown was seen in Chucky and The Sinner. In the premiere, Acosta stands guard outside Elginโ€™s room. She also distances herself from Boyd after he tortured Elgin.

Douglas E. Hughes appears as the Man in the Yellow Suit, the showโ€™s most mysterious and terrifying villain. Hughes plays this entity who killed Jim and then transformed into a young girl to infiltrate the town.

The New Cast Member Joining From Season 4

Julia Doyle joins the cast as Sophia, the new character introduced in the season 4 premiere. Doyle is also known for her roles in Hell of a Summer and Working Moms.

Her character seems like a scared, innocent teenager at first. She crashes into the sheriffโ€™s office with a pastor she calls her father. She asks to pray with Kenny and talks about God. But by the end of the episode, Sophia smothers the pastor to death and reveals she is actually the Man in the Yellow Suit in disguise.

โ€œJulia is so good as Sophia. Sheโ€™s got just the right amount of totally sweet, but a little crazy in her eyes. Sheโ€™s just perfect for the role.โ€ โ€“ Harold Perrineau to Den of Geek

Doyle told VvipTimes that she played Sophia and the Man in the Yellow Suit as two separate characters. When she was Sophia, she fully believed she was that scared girl and tapped into her own Catholic upbringing to make the performance feel real.
