Television actor Gaurav Khanna has left Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 just one week after returning to the show as a wild-card contestant. His exit came after he won the elimination stunt but chose to walk away due to a persistent elbow injury. The decision saved Ruhaanika Dhawan from elimination. Khanna broke down in tears on set, apologised to host Rohit Shetty and his fellow contestants, and touched the host’s feet before leaving. The finale of the Rohit Shetty-hosted show was shot in Mumbai on September 13, and the winner has not yet been officially announced.
Why Gaurav Khanna Left Khatron Ke Khiladi 15
Gaurav Khanna had already been eliminated from Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 earlier in the season after suffering an elbow injury during a stunt. He returned as a wild card, hoping to continue his journey. But the pain returned, and he realised that continuing could affect his recovery. In a vlog recorded in Cape Town, where the show was filmed, Khanna explained his decision. He said he feared that upcoming stunts involving electrocution could make his elbow pain worse and reduce the strength in his right arm.
In his vlog, Khanna said, “I won my stunt but I thought that I don’t want to continue because if any new stunt involves electrocution then it will trigger my elbow pain excruciatingly. Then I will not have the full power in my right elbow. That is really painful. But what was more painful was the decision to leave the show at this juncture.”
He also revealed that he had injured his elbow in the middle of the show and returned after taking medicine. When the pain came back, he decided he could not continue. “I could have gone forward but I didn’t want to take more on my recovery phase. I have also been requested to travel safely,” he added. Doctors had advised him to use braces for support, and in his vlog he showed the tapes and support around his right hand.
The Elimination Stunt and Saving Ruhaanika Dhawan
In the latest episode, Gaurav Khanna, Ruhaanika Dhawan and Rubina Dilaik faced the elimination stunt. The task required contestants to climb onto a platform suspended high in the air and pull out flags attached to it. Khanna managed to pull out two flags, while Rubina Dilaik secured one. Ruhaanika Dhawan slipped and fell from the platform, and her task was stopped. As per the rules, she was set to be eliminated.
After winning the stunt, Khanna told Rohit Shetty that he still wanted to leave the show. He said, “Even though I have won the task, I want to take an exit from the show because it’s taking a toll on my health. I don’t want to upset you like this more in upcoming tasks because the standard of stunts in shows is on next level. If I am not 100%, I don’t want to take any other person’s place who is physically fit.”
His decision meant that Ruhaanika Dhawan escaped elimination. Khanna apologised to her and to the other contestants for his choice. He explained that he did not want to take the place of someone who was fully ready for the challenges.
Emotional Farewell on the Show
Gaurav Khanna became emotional as he said goodbye. He apologised to Rohit Shetty and his fellow contestants and broke down in tears. He hugged the host and touched his feet before leaving the set. Ruhaanika Dhawan tried to convince him not to quit, but Khanna was firm about his decision.
Khanna said, “Firstly, I’m very sorry. I didn’t intentionally say that I wanted to abort this stunt. I later found out that Ruhanika had also spoken about wanting to abort it.” He added that he knew the standard of stunts on the show was at a completely different level and that he did not want to upset anyone further.
The moment left everyone on set emotional. Contestants like Orry, Ruhaanika Dhawan and Rubina Dilaik were visibly moved as they bid farewell to Khanna.
About Khatron Ke Khiladi 15
Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 premiered on August 1, 2026, on Colors TV and JioHotstar. New episodes air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM. The season was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, and is based on the theme “Old vs New: Darr Ka Naya Daur.”
The season brought together returning contestants such as Rubina Dilaik, Rithvik Dhanjani, Vishal Aditya Singh, Karan Wahi and Jasmin Bhasin, alongside new participants including Avinash Mishra, Farrhana Bhatt, Orry, Ruhaanika Dhawan and Gaurav Khanna. The show initially featured Old vs New team-based tasks, but the teams were later dissolved, and contestants began competing individually for a place in the finale.
The grand finale episode was shot on September 13 in Mumbai. Fans are speculating that either Avinash Mishra or Farrhana Bhatt could have won the trophy. Host Rohit Shetty was asked about the winner by paparazzi at the finale shoot. He refused to give away any details and said, “Even I don’t know who the winner is.” Both Farrhana and Avinash have been strong competitors this season. Neither of them has aborted a single stunt. Avinash completed a water-based stunt in just 1 minute and 16 seconds, which earned him the power to refuse a task in the next two weeks. Farrhana stood out during a driving stunt, where she was the only contestant to complete the task successfully.
