The party at Godolkin University is officially over. Amazon’s Prime Video has decided not to continue ‘Gen V’ for a third season. The college-set spinoff of ‘The Boys’ ends its run after two seasons. But the young supes are not gone for good. Showrunner Eric Kripke has a clear message for fans worried about their favorite characters.
Season 2 wrapped up in October 2025, leaving Marie, Jordan, and the others on the run from Vought. Now, Kripke explains exactly where these characters will show up next. The decision to cancel the show comes as ‘The Boys’ airs its final season. It is a major shift for the franchise, but not the end of the road for the Godolkin students.
The Godolkin Students Move to ‘The Boys’ Season 5
‘Gen V’ characters will not disappear from streaming libraries. Eric Kripke and executive producer Evan Goldberg confirmed that several key characters will appear in ‘The Boys’ Season 5. This integration was already hinted at during the ‘Gen V’ Season 2 finale. The episode ended with the students joining Starlight’s resistance against Homelander.
“While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the ‘Gen V’ characters’ stories in ‘The Boys’ Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again.” – Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg
Jaz Sinclair and London Thor have already been seen in trailers for upcoming episodes of ‘The Boys’ final season. They will reprise their roles as Marie Moreau and Jordan Li. Joining them are other cast members like Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, and Asa Germann. Their move from college drama to the main stage means facing much higher stakes. Instead of dealing with school grades and secret labs, they are now in the middle of a war.
What Happened to ‘Gen V’ Season 3 Plans
The show was actually getting ready for a third season. Kripke had a full plan ready. He described the idea for ‘Gen V’ Season 3 as something very different and grounded. But the numbers did not support continuing.
The first season started strong with 374 million minutes viewed in its launch week. Season 2 did even better at the start, hitting 424 million minutes viewed in September 2025. It reached number eight on the Nielsen streaming chart. But the show only returned to the top 10 one more time after that. For a streaming service, keeping high viewership over time matters more than just a strong opening.
“There’s a take for season 3 of ‘Gen V’ that I love. It’s really surprising and unexpected, but great and really emotionally grounded. I would love to do it. If the ratings are good enough, they’ll give us a season 3. If they’re not good enough, they won’t. That’s just the business.” – Eric Kripke on the canceled Season 3 plans.
The show also faced a major loss. Actor Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson, died in a motorcycle accident in March 2024. His death delayed the production of Season 2. While the show honored his character, the loss affected the team deeply.
The Vought Cinematic Universe Keeps Expanding
‘Gen V’ is ending, but the world of Vought is not shrinking. Amazon is putting money into a larger Vought Cinematic Universe (VCU). The strategy is shifting away from keeping one show running for many seasons. Instead, they want to create different projects that connect with each other.
The next big project is ‘Vought Rising’ , a prequel series. It is set in 1950s New York. Jensen Ackles returns as Soldier Boy, and Aya Cash returns as Stormfront. The show is described as a gritty crime story with superheroes. ‘Vought Rising’ is scheduled to debut in 2027. Another project, ‘The Boys: Mexico’ , is also in early development.

This means ‘Gen V’ characters could pop up in any of these shows. Kripke wants the universe to feel connected. A character like Cate or Emma could appear in ‘Vought Rising’ or another future spinoff. The cancellation of ‘Gen V’ does not mean the end of those specific storylines. It just means they will continue in different places.
The loss of ‘Gen V’ is tough for fans who loved the college setting. But the trade-off is seeing these characters fight alongside Billy Butcher and the rest of ‘The Boys’ team. They are moving from a school fight to a global war. For fans of the franchise, that might be worth watching.
