“It was so unexpected. At first when it started, random videos started popping up on my Explore and I was like, okay, okay. And then suddenly it was everywhere. It was like a shocker to me and I was really surprised to see that it was all over the internet.”
The singer admitted that she was shocked to see her old song getting so much attention again. She did not expect “Gucci” to make a comeback years after its release.
Friends and Family Sent Her Ravi Kishan Reels
As the trend grew, Aroob Khan’s personal phone started buzzing. Her friends, family members, and even her brother began sending her different versions of the Ravi Kishan reels. She found the whole situation very funny.
“My friend groups, my family, mama, even my brother, everyone started sending me these reels. There were different versions of those Ravi Kishan reels. So, it was really funny to me at the same time. I was very happy that everyone is connecting to the song again and it was a really nice feeling.”
She was happy to see people connecting with her music once again. For her, this proved that good music does not have an expiration date.
“I just feel like for music, you can’t put an expiry date on it. If the music is good, then people would really start connecting with that music in the future.”
Aroob Khan Wants to Collaborate with Ravi Kishan
With Ravi Kishan at the center of this viral trend, Aroob Khan is now looking to take things further. She has already asked her team to reach out to the actor-politician for a possible collaboration.
“I literally told my team to connect to him because obviously he is the OG and he has set the trend. I would love to do that if I get a chance.”
She believes that Ravi Kishan is the original trendsetter and wants to work with him if the opportunity comes. She is also working on new music and recently released a dance number called Bhete Jaana Hai, which is aimed at Gen Z.
Aroob Khan’s Big Bollywood Dreams
Besides her current viral moment, Aroob Khan has bigger plans for her career. She is currently focusing on independent music, but she dreams of singing for Bollywood films. Her biggest wish is to do playback singing in a Salman Khan movie.
She also wants to collaborate with singer Sunidhi Chauhan, whom she considers her inspiration.
“I wish I could do it for Salman Khan. I just hope that in future I get to collaborate with Sunidhi Chauhan. She has been my inspiration. It would be a collaboration with Sunidhi in Salman’s movie.”
