The three-year wait is over for fans of the dark fantasy anime Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku. Studio MAPPA has officially confirmed that Hell’s Paradise Season 2 will premiere on Sunday, January 11, 2026. The new season continues the brutal and philosophical journey of Gabimaru the Hollow and his companions on the mysterious island of Shinsenkyo. This guide covers the complete release schedule, global streaming times, new story arcs, and the returning cast to prepare you for the upcoming season.

Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Release Date and Weekly Schedule

The premiere date for Hell’s Paradise Season 2 is set for January 11, 2026. In Japan, the anime will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliated networks. New episodes are scheduled to be released weekly.

Based on the pattern of the first season and industry standards for similar shows, the second season is expected to consist of approximately 13 episodes. This follows a standard broadcast “cour,” meaning viewers can anticipate one new episode every week, barring any unexpected production breaks or delays announced by the studio.

Global Streaming Release Times on Crunchyroll

For international viewers, Crunchyroll holds the streaming rights to simulcast Hell’s Paradise Season 2 outside of Asia. New episodes will be available on the platform shortly after they finish airing on Japanese television.

Because the Japanese broadcast is late at night, the exact release time will vary by time zone. Here is when you can expect new episodes to go live on Crunchyroll:

  • United States (West Coast): Around 7:45 AM PST
  • United States (East Coast): Around 10:45 AM EST
  • United Kingdom: Around 3:45 PM GMT
  • India: Around 8:15 PM IST
  • Australia (East Coast): Around 2:45 AM AEST (January 12)

These times are estimates. For the most precise schedule, checking the Crunchyroll app or website closer to the premiere date is recommended.

Story and Arcs: What to Expect in Season 2

Hell’s Paradise Season 2 will dive directly into the heart of the manga’s most intense storylines. The new season is confirmed to adapt two major arcs: the “Lord Tensen” arc and the beginning of the “Hลrai” arc.

The first season ended with the surviving charactersโ€”criminals and executioners alikeโ€”forming a fragile alliance. Season 2 raises the stakes as they face the true rulers of the island, the god-like beings known as the Tensen. These enemies possess immense regenerative powers and command the island’s bizarre flora and fauna. The search for the Elixir of Life becomes a desperate fight for survival against overwhelming supernatural forces.

The official promotional tagline for the season, featured on a key visual, declares the characters’ grim resolve: “We will definitely live and leave this island”.

Furthermore, the political intrigue deepens. Frustrated by the lack of results, the Shogunate dispatches a second, more ruthless wave of warriors to the island with orders to secure the elixir and eliminate all previous expedition members. This adds a dangerous new layer of conflict for Gabimaru, Sagiri, and their allies.

Confirmed Cast and New Characters

The core Japanese voice cast from the first season returns to reprise their roles. Chiaki Kobayashi returns as the stoic ninja Gabimaru, and Yumiri Hanamori is back as the principled executioner Sagiri. They are joined by other surviving characters voiced by Ryouhei Kimura, Rie Takahashi, and Kensho Ono.

Season 2 will also introduce several important new characters, primarily a new group of Yamada Asaemon executioners. The confirmed new cast members include:

  • Ryouta Suzuki as Shugen, a powerful and strict executioner.
  • Koji Yusa as Jikka.
  • Sayaka Ohara as Isuzu.
  • Maaya Uchida as Kiyomaru.

These new arrivals add fresh dynamics and power to the already volatile situation on the island.

Production Team, Music, and Themes

Fans can expect the same high-quality animation and direction that defined the first season. Studio MAPPA continues as the animation production company. Key staff members like director Kaori Makita and series composer Akira Kindaichi have returned, ensuring a consistent tone and narrative style.

The season’s music has also been revealed. The opening theme song is “Kasuka na Hana” (Faint Flower), performed by Tatsuya Kitani featuring BABYMETAL. The ending theme is “Personal”, performed by the band Queen Bee. This combination promises a powerful and thematically rich soundtrack to accompany the on-screen action.
