Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark have never shied away from cameras. But their new Hulu series House of Stassi takes their openness to another level. The show, which premiered on July 29, 2026, on Freeform, puts the couple’s marriage problems front and center in a way reality television rarely does.
The series follows the former Vanderpump Rules star as she returns to reality TV while balancing motherhood, her career, and life with her stay-at-home husband. All eight episodes are now streaming on Hulu in the United States. UK viewers can watch starting August 12, 2026, on Disney+.
Beau Clark Breaks Down Over Roommate Dynamic
The premiere episode delivered one of the most emotional moments in recent reality TV. Beau, 46, sat down with the couple’s close friend Taylor Strecker and opened up about feeling disconnected from his wife.
“I’m trying to balance wanting her to have her space and to be able to not stress out when she’s working,” Beau said. “But then also I’m sitting here and I’m angry and resentful”.
The commercial casting director, who stepped back from his career to be a stay-at-home dad to their two children, admitted he had been “shoving it down” instead of confronting the problems.
“I just got so detached from her that it’s like we’re roommates,” he confessed. “I don’t feel worthy”.
Beau later told Stassi he feels like “a 1950s housewife” with his apron on, cleaning and feeding the kids while lacking connection with his wife.
Stassi Admits to Sweeping Issues Under the Rug
Stassi, 38, did not shy away from acknowledging her role in the couple’s struggles. During the episode, she teared up when Beau compared their relationship to roommates.
“I want you to say things. I want you to say things the way that you tell me you don’t want things to build up,” she told him. “I need to make more of an effort”.
In a separate interview on the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast, Stassi admitted that before filming, she and Beau would avoid addressing their frustrations.
“Normally when Beau and I are going about our lives, we sweep things under the rug,” she said. “If either of us is annoyed at something, we let it go”.
She explained that reality TV forced them to confront issues they would normally ignore.
“When you’re filming a reality show, you don’t get to do that. You have to say what you’re feeling, verbalize it, talk through it, figure it out”.
Stassi compared the experience to therapy, saying it brought “more honesty and transparency” to their marriage.
Divorce Mention Causes Tension
The series also revealed a moment when Stassi mentioned divorce during an argument. In one episode, Beau overheard Stassi talking about divorce without hearing the full context.
“I just heard divorce. Are you joking?” he told Stassi.
In a confessional, Beau explained why the word hit him so hard.
“Stassi and I were both children of divorce and we have very strong feelings of not going down the same route as our parents. I don’t like that. I don’t want to get divorced, ever”.
The couple’s friends later discussed their concerns. Taylor Strecker revealed that Stassi was the one who brought up divorce during a “big fight” in Italy two years ago.
“He crossed a line for her and she was furious,” Taylor explained.
Despite the tension, both Stassi and Beau made it clear they have no plans to separate.
A Different Kind of Reality Show
What sets House of Stassi apart from other reality series is its willingness to explore the challenges of a modern marriage with a stay-at-home dad.
Stassi told Variety that she pitched the show specifically to highlight this dynamic.
“I don’t see this dynamic presented anywhere on reality TV and I’m proud of our lives and what we’ve built,” she said.
The show features Stassi’s close friends, including Katie Maloney, Kristina Kelly, and Georgianna Aubin. But the focus remains on the couple’s journey through their struggles.
Executive producers David Marker and Renata Lombardo said the couple’s discussions about their marriage issues happened naturally.
“Everything happened organically and in a real way, but it never got to a point where it felt like it went too far for anybody,” Marker said.
The Price of Honesty
Filming the show came with challenges. Stassi admitted that putting their marriage on screen “puts a strain on it and it rewards it at the same time”.
She also reflected on a moment where she offered Beau money not to return to work, calling her behavior “awful” and apologizing.
“I mean, we’re doing really well! He’s just a really wonderful person and everything he does is coming from a place of wanting to make the right decision and being morally sound,” she told Variety.
Despite the difficulties, Stassi remains committed to her career.
“I’ve already been working for years to get here. I can’t just stop now because all of a sudden, Beau waited until this very moment to tell me that,” she said in a confessional.
The Couple’s Background
Stassi and Beau met in 2017 through mutual friends Kristen Doute and Katie Maloney. They got engaged two years later and married in September 2020 during an intimate backyard ceremony. They celebrated their marriage again in Rome in May 2022.
The couple shares two children: daughter Hartford Charlie Rose Clark, born in January 2021, and son Messer, born in September 2023.
House of Stassi marks Stassi’s return to reality TV after she was fired from Vanderpump Rules in 2020. She later appeared on Vanderpump Villa before landing her own show.
