The series, which premiered on July 6, 2026, has maintained a weekly release schedule on Crunchyroll. Episode 6 arrived on August 7, keeping the show on track for its planned 12-episode run.

Story Overview
The anime adapts the light novel series by Ezogingitune (story) and DeeCHA (illustrations), which began serialization on the user-generated novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō in June 2018.
The story follows Luck, an S-rank mage in the hero’s party who makes a last stand against the Demon King to save his companions. After a grueling ten-year battle, he emerges victorious. When he finally returns, the world believes he died as a legendary hero. Unable to reclaim his former life, Luck conceals his identity and begins again as “Lock,” an F-rank adventurer forging a future in a world that moved on without him.

Hiroyuki Kanbe (known for Viper’s Creed) directs the series at animation studio Gekkō. Mitsutaka Hirota handles series composition, with Maziro serving as character designer.

The light novel series has sold over 4.45 million copies in print. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Chaco Abeno and Kitsune Tennoji, continues to serialize. The English digital release of the manga is available through various platforms.
The anime was originally scheduled for an April 2026 premiere but was delayed to July. The series runs for approximately 23 minutes per episode.
