The new Korean drama ‘Infidelity is Not the Problem Right Now’ has taken the number one spot on Coupang Play after releasing only its first two episodes. The series, starring Kim Hye Soo and Cho Yeo Jeong, hit the top of the platform’s ‘Top 20 TV Programs This Week’ as of August 4, 2026. It also holds a strong 4.6 out of 5 user rating on Coupang Play.

The show premiered on July 31, 2026, at 8 PM KST. Even with its 19+ restricted rating, the drama has earned strong reviews and widespread buzz during its debut week.

Two Families, One Big Mess

The drama follows two couples living as neighbours in an upscale neighbourhood. One is a popular influencer couple who built their brand around a perfect family image. The other is a doctor couple stuck in a bitter divorce battle.

Kim Hye Soo plays Park Kyung Hee, a successful interior design CEO and influencer. Kim Ji Hoon plays her husband Jae Hong. Next door, Cho Yeo Jeong plays Soo Jung, a dermatologist going through a messy divorce from Bo Sung, played by Kim Jae Chul.

The show’s official description calls it a “chain-collision black comedy”. What looks like a simple affair story quickly turns into something much bigger.

Affairs Are Only the Beginning

The first two episodes set up a series of shocking events. Kyung Hee discovers a tabloid rumour about her husband’s affair. Meanwhile, their neighbours Soo Jung and Bo Sung are fighting over custody of their daughter.

After a dinner between the two families, things spiral out of control. A mysterious body turns up in a redevelopment district. A fight breaks out between a private investigator and a divorce lawyer. Then a hit-and-run accident happens.

The hidden truths behind the affair rumours start coming out. The dangerous relationship between Soo Jung and Jae Hong deepens. Shocking revelations from the children add even more layers to the story.

Viewers have reacted strongly to the fast-paced storytelling. One person wrote: “Every prediction was wrong after the ending of episode 1”. Another said: “It sweeps you away from episodes 1 and 2”. A different viewer commented: “The directing is truly art. It makes it impossible to take your eyes off the screen”.

Behind the Scenes

The series comes from a strong production team. Lee Chang Hee directs, known for his work on ‘Strangers from Hell’ and ‘A Killer Paradox’. The writers are Jung Eun Kyung and Park Soo Rin.

The show is produced by Firstman Studio, the company founded by ‘Squid Game’ director Hwang Dong Hyuk and producer Kim Ji Yeon. This connection has added to the show’s buzz before it even launched.

What Makes This Drama Different

The show does not just focus on affairs. It turns into a crime story where every attempt to fix a problem creates a worse one. The series mixes black comedy with suspense in a way that keeps viewers guessing.

The drama has been described as a “black horse” of 2026 K-dramas. Even with its adult rating, it has drawn in audiences through its cast, unpredictable plot, and strong directing.

New episodes release every Friday at 8 PM on Coupang Play. The show is available to both Coupang Wow members and general users for free.
