What Happened in Episode 13
Episode 13, titled “A Letter from Egypt,” aired on September 29, 2026. Following the Hittite army’s victory against the Mitanni, Yuri returned to Hattusa after missing her chance to return to modern-day Japan. A letter then arrived from Egypt, containing a proposal from the widowed queen to marry a Hittite prince. Kyle was nominated as the first choice, but at Urhi’s instigation, the prince to travel to Egypt was chosen through a chariot race.
Zannanza was selected as the prince to marry into the Egyptian royal family. In the manga and anime, Zannanza’s death is depicted as the earliest recorded case of a missing person, though history remains uncertain about whether he was actually killed. His disappearance is seen as a tragic result of Nakia’s selfish actions, as it is likely to spark a war between Egypt and the Hittites.
Juda, Nakia’s son, was also introduced. Unlike his mother, he has no desire to become king and believes Kail should sit on the throne. He is devoted to scholarly pursuits in order to support Kail. Nakia’s actions are driven by her own ambitions rather than her son’s wishes.
