Kaylee, a member of the global girl group VCHA under JYP Entertainment, has officially left the group and the agency. The news was confirmed by JYP Entertainment on July 12, 2025, and Kaylee also shared the announcement on her Instagram. This marks her full departure after being on hiatus since March 2024 due to undisclosed health concerns.

VCHA, originally a six-member group, is now down to four members: Camila, Kendall, Lexi, and Savanna. The group has faced multiple challenges, including KGโ€™s lawsuit against JYP Entertainment in late 2024 over alleged mistreatment and unfair working conditions.

Kayleeโ€™s Hiatus and Final Departure

Kaylee first went on hiatus in March 2024 when JYP Entertainment announced she would pause all activities due to health reasons. At the time, the agency stated:

โ€œDue to a health condition, Kaylee will be taking a hiatus from upcoming VCHA activities until further notice. We will provide further updates regarding the resumption of Kayleeโ€™s activities. We will continue to place the highest priority on our artistโ€™s health and ask for your support in Kayleeโ€™s full recovery.โ€

Despite initial hopes for her return, Kaylee never resumed activities with VCHA. Over a year later, her departure was finalized, ending her time with the group and JYP Entertainment.

VCHAโ€™s Struggles and Member Changes

VCHA debuted in January 2024 after forming through the survival show A2K (America2Korea). The group quickly gained attention as JYPโ€™s first U.S.-based girl group, but their momentum was disrupted by multiple issues:

  • KGโ€™s Lawsuit (December 2024): Former member KG filed a lawsuit against JYP USA, alleging child labor violations, unpaid wages, and emotional distress. She claimed members were forced to work through injuries, faced extreme diet restrictions, and were under constant surveillance.
  • Group Inactivity: After their March 2024 single โ€œOnly Oneโ€, VCHA canceled scheduled performances, including Lollapalooza 2024, and went silent on social media.
  • Reduced Lineup: With Kayleeโ€™s exit, VCHA now has only four active members, raising questions about the groupโ€™s future.

Fan Reactions and Industry Impact

Fans expressed mixed emotions about Kayleeโ€™s departure. Some supported her decision, emphasizing health should come first, while others worried about VCHAโ€™s stability.

โ€œItโ€™s sad, but her health is more important. I hope she recovers well.โ€ โ€“ Fan comment on Instagram
โ€œFirst KG, now Kayleeโ€ฆ whatโ€™s happening with VCHA? Is the group even continuing?โ€ โ€“ Twitter user

The situation has also brought scrutiny to JYP Entertainmentโ€™s management, especially after KGโ€™s lawsuit exposed alleged harsh conditions for young artists.

Whatโ€™s Next for Kaylee and VCHA?

As of now, Kaylee has not announced her next career steps. Meanwhile, VCHAโ€™s future remains uncertain. The group has not released new music since early 2024, and JYP Entertainment has not provided updates on their next plans.
