Netflix’s latest offering, “Cashero,” is set to take the superhero genre by storm with its unique premise and star-studded cast. The series, based on a popular webtoon, revolves around Kang Sang Woong, an ordinary government employee who gains strength proportional to the cash he possesses.

Lee Junho, known for his roles in “King the Land” and “The Red Sleeve,” will portray Kang Sang Woong. His character, a community center official dreaming of owning a house, inherits a supernatural ability that turns his life upside down. As he loses money, he also loses his newfound power, setting the stage for a dynamic portrayal of his struggles.

Kim Hye Joon, who has impressed audiences in “Kingdom,” “Inspector Koo,” and “A Shop for Killers,” will play Kim Min Sook, Kang Sang Woong’s longtime girlfriend. An extremely analytical and realistic person, Kim Min Sook values efficiency above all else. Despite considering Kang Sang Woong’s work as Cashero inefficient, she supports him more than anyone else.

Kim Byung Chul, a familiar face from “Doctor Cha,” “SKY Castle,” “Descendants of the Sun,” and “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,” will portray Byun Ho In. His character, a lawyer with supernatural abilities that activate when he drinks, stands against a mysterious organization hunting those with supernatural powers. Recognizing Kang Sang Woong’s unique abilities, Byun Ho In proposes they team up to save the world.

Kim Hyang Gi, star of “Along With the Gods” and “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist,” will play Bang Eun Mi. Her character, who is fearless and slightly shameless, has supernatural powers that activate based on her caloric intake. Bang Eun Mi is a reliable ally to Kang Sang Woong and Byun Ho In, raising anticipation for their synergy.

“Cashero” is directed by Lee Chang Min of “Agency” and “Welcome to Waikiki” fame and written by Lee Je In and Cheon Chan Ho, the screenwriters behind “Sisyphus: The Myth”.
