South Korean actress Lee Si Young has given birth to her second child, a baby girl. The newborn was delivered using a frozen embryo created with her former husband before their divorce earlier this year. Lee Si Young shared the happy news and photos of her baby on social media, calling her daughter a gift.
The Birth Announcement
On November 5, 2025, Lee Si Young posted a heartfelt message on her Instagram, introducing her newborn daughter to the world. She expressed her profound joy and gratitude, writing:
โI consider this a gift from God, and I will make sure to raise [the baby] happily with Jeong Yoon.โ
In her post, she also extended special thanks to her doctor, Professor Won Hye Seong, for his care and support. The announcement was accompanied by touching photos of the new mother with her baby. This birth makes her first son, Jeong Yoon, a proud older brother.
A Personal Decision on Pregnancy
The actress first revealed her pregnancy in a public announcement back in July 2025. She explained that she wanted to share the news herself to prevent any potential misunderstandings or public speculation.
The embryo was created through in vitro fertilization (IVF) while she was still married. As the couple’s divorce proceedings were underway, the five-year storage period for the frozen embryo was nearing its end. Faced with the decision to either discard the embryo or proceed with the pregnancy, Lee Si Young made a conscious choice on her own.
โAlthough my former husband did not consent, I intend to hold full responsibility for the decision I have made,โ she stated in her July announcement.
She reflected that her first child was her greatest source of happiness during a difficult marriage and that she did not want to discard the embryo. She decided to welcome the new life, prepared to raise the child herself.
