Actress Lee Sun Bin recently opened up about her long-term relationship with actor Lee Kwang Soo during an appearance on the YouTube channel Ji Suk Jin World. This marks the first time she has shared detailed stories about their romance, which began after she called him her ideal type on the show Running Man.
The couple, who have been dating publicly since 2018, revealed how their love story started. Lee Sun Bin explained that she was a rookie actress when she first mentioned Lee Kwang Soo as her ideal type in an interview after her drama Squad 38. The Running Man team later invited her for an episode featuring guests who picked him as their crush.
“I didnโt expect it to become a big deal. I just answered honestly about my ideal type,” Lee Sun Bin said.
Despite her initial comment, she clarified that Lee Kwang Soo was the one who actively pursued the relationship. Host Ji Suk Jin, a close friend of Kwang Soo, shared a sweet text message from him before the show:
“Hyung, Sun Bin is appearing today. Please take good care of her.”
Lee Sun Bin laughed and admitted she told Kwang Soo she was nervous about filming. Their relationship developed naturally after their Running Man appearance in 2016, and they confirmed dating two years later.
During the show, Ji Suk Jin called Lee Kwang Soo for a fun quiz about his girlfriend. While he correctly guessed her food preferences (jajangmyeon over jjamppong) and that she likes the sea more than mountains, he failed to name her favorite colorโorange.
“If you donโt know the color orange, youโre in big trouble!” Lee Sun Bin joked.
The coupleโs playful dynamic was evident when she was asked to send him a message. She shyly replied, “Justโฆ do well and come back safe,” making everyone laugh.
Lee Sun Bin and Lee Kwang Soo have maintained a strong relationship for eight years, earning praise as one of Koreaโs most stable celebrity couples. They keep their romance private but occasionally show support for each otherโs work. Recently, Kwang Soo attended the premiere of her horror film Noise, even though he doesnโt usually like scary movies.
“He watched it with his eyes open but spilled popcorn because he got scared,” she shared with a smile.
Fans love their genuine bond, and this rare glimpse into their relationship has only made them more endearing. Their story proves that sometimes, a simple ideal type comment can lead to a lasting love.
