Netflix is adding another Korean romance drama to its growing lineup. The streaming service has officially confirmed Long Vacation, a new series from the director behind the global hit Crash Landing on You. The project brings together two rising stars, Choo Young-woo and Lee Se-young, for a fantasy love story set at a seaside hotel.
The announcement came on April 1, 2026, with Netflix sharing photos from the show’s first table read in Seoul. The series is already in production, marking another major addition to the platform’s Korean content slate for the coming years.
Director Lee Jung-hyo Returns to Romance After Crash Landing on You Success
Lee Jung-hyo, the director who made Crash Landing on You a worldwide phenomenon, is back in the romance genre with Long Vacation. His previous work includes the 2019-2020 hit that starred Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, which became one of Netflix’s most-watched K-dramas. More recently, he directed Doona! (2023) and the thriller The Price of Confession (2025).
The director reunites with writer Jung Hyun-jung, a veteran romance screenwriter known for I Need Romance, Romance Is a Bonus Book, Lovestruck in the City, and Discovery of Love. Their previous collaboration on Romance Is a Bonus Book showed their ability to create engaging romantic stories, and expectations are high for what they will bring to this new fantasy romance.
The Story: A Devil Who Knows Nothing About Love Meets a Hotel Worker
Long Vacation follows a unique premise that blends fantasy with romance. The official synopsis describes Demon 3375, played by Choo Young-woo, as a powerful being who has lived for centuries. He has never understood love and has always gotten whatever he wanted. His life changes when he receives a new mission that takes him to a seaside town in South Korea.
There, he meets Deul-pan, portrayed by Lee Se-young, a capable hotel room attendant. Her everyday life is far from easy, but she handles it with skill and determination. When their paths keep crossing at the seaside hotel where Deul-pan works and Demon 3375 stays, an unlikely relationship begins to form. For the first time in his long existence, the demon experiences unfamiliar emotions that challenge everything he thought he knew.
“When the two keep crossing paths at a seaside hotel, an unexpected relationship begins to shake everything Demon 3375 thought he knew,” according to the Netflix synopsis.
The drama will run for 12 episodes, each approximately 60 minutes long. While Netflix has not announced an official release date, production reports indicate the series is aiming for a 2027 premiere.
Choo Young-woo Takes on First Lead Role as a Demon
Choo Young-woo, 26, steps into his first major leading role as Demon 3375. The actor has been on a rapid rise since his debut in 2021 with Police University. His breakthrough came in 2025 with a string of successful projects including The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, Mercy for None, and Head Over Heels as part of The Tale of Lady Ok.
His performance in The Tale of Lady Ok earned him the Best New Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards and recognition at the Korea Drama Awards. He also won Best Actor – Male and Icon Award – Actor at the Asia Artist Awards last year.
Choo’s character, Demon 3375, arrives in Korea for a new mission. At the seaside hotel, he encounters Deul-pan and finds himself experiencing emotions he cannot understand. The role requires him to show a powerful being gradually learning what it means to care for another person. He is also set to appear in another upcoming drama, Love Doctor, opposite Kim So-hyun.
Lee Se-young Brings Experience as the Sharp Hotel Attendant
Lee Se-young, 33, plays Deul-pan, a hotel room attendant whose life is demanding but who handles it with sharp skills. The actress began her career as a child, appearing in Jewel in the Palace and other projects. Her adult career includes notable roles in The Red Sleeve, What Comes After Love, Kairos, Doctor John, Motel California, Hwayugi: A Korean Odyssey, The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract, and The Crowned Clown.
Her performance in The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop won her the Baeksang Arts Award for Best New Actress – Television. For Long Vacation, she plays a character described as straightforward and full of energy. Deul-pan works as a hotel room consultant at the seaside resort, which brings her into close contact with the VVVIP guest Demon 3375. Their professional encounters slowly turn into something more personal.
Lee will also appear in The Remarried Empress alongside Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, and Lee Jong-suk.
