A journalist got into a tense verbal altercation with Min Hee Jin.

On May 31, Min Hee Jin held a press conference. During the interview the CEO was talking about why it was important that she be able to make executive decisions at ADOR when she was abruptly cut off by a journalist, who demanded Min Hee Jin hurry up and finish talking.

Dumbfounded, Min Hee Jin then offered to make the press conference longer.

I’m sorry but this it is important that I explain this. I can give you guys more time if you need it. As soon as I finish making this point, I will let you ask your question first.

The reporter then barked back, again telling the CEO to finish her statement.

We don’t have a lot of time either. Everyone is here because you suddenly announced this press conference, right? So please talk quickly and let us ask you questions.

Despite the tense interaction, Min Hee Jin handled the situation with grace while letting the journalist know that she felt uncomfortable with the way the journalist was speaking to her.

I’m sorry but I don’t think I should be scolded by you for this, but I’ll try to speak as quickly as possible. There isn’t a set limit of how many questions I will take and it is important that I explain this. But I will do my best to make this short.

The interaction sparked outcry and soon netizens alleged they had found the journalist. The headlines of the articles that journalist had written about the press conference also went viral. In one of her articles the journalist even slammed a colleague who had complimented Min Hee Jin for looking pretty.

• “‘You’re so pretty’ What is up with the visual compliment? Everyone ‘Sighs’”
• “Min Hee Jin’s sudden press conference, cries in 3 minutes, saying ‘I’m not trying to make an emotional appeal’”

Netizens slammed the journalist for her unprofessional behavior. Many found it ironic that a journalist would complain about Min Hee Jin talking a lot during a press conference. Others alleged that she was heavily biased toward HYBE and had only written unfair articles about Min Hee Jin.

• “They say she is a pro-HYBE reporter, lol. She has only written articles attacking Min Hee Jin. Her articles from today are also a mess. It’s so transparent.”
