Episode 4 of My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked (Japanese title: Ibitte Konai Gibo to Gishi) comes out on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. The series follows a weekly schedule with new episodes arriving every Wednesday.
The episode first airs in Japan at 11:30 PM JST on multiple television networks. These include TV Kanagawa, TV Saitama, Chiba TV, MBS, Tokyo MX, and BS Asahi.
For viewers outside Japan, the global release times are:

What Happened Before Episode 4
My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked tells the story of Miya Nakamura, an illegitimate child of a prominent family. After her mother dies, she is taken in by her father’s family. Miya expects a life of misery and servitude at the hands of her stepmother and stepsisters. But when she finally meets them, they turn out to be kind and sweet instead.
The series is a comedy that plays with the Cinderella trope in reverse. Miya suffers from anthropophobia, which means she fears people. This causes her to misunderstand the warm intentions of her new family.
Episode 1 introduced Miya and her new family. Her stepmother, Teru Kounokura, and stepsisters, Marika and Arisa, immediately began caring for her. They made sure she had a proper room and a healthy diet.
Episode 2 continued to show the family’s kindness. The stepsisters defended Miya against their grandmother’s tricks. They proved themselves to be her protectors.
Episode 3, titled “Secret révélé au clair de lune” (Secret Revealed in the Moonlight), came out on July 22. It likely dealt with a secret being uncovered under the moonlight.

Production Team and Voice Cast
The anime is produced by animation studio NEWON. Keisuke Inoue serves as the director. Inoue is known for his work on My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! and Ao-chan Can’t Study!.
Nanami Hoshino writes the series scripts. Rina Tayama composes the music. Mutsumi Sasaki is the chief animation director and character designer.
The main voice cast includes:
- Hina Suzuki as Miya Nakamura
- Kujira as Teru Kounokura (the stepmother)
- Yu Serizawa as Marika Konokura (the first stepsister)
- Yuka Nukui as Arisa Konokura (the second stepsister)
- Anna Mugiho as Gungnir (the family’s beloved guard dog)
Additional cast members include Hiroki Tochi as Ueki and Eiko Yamada as Yasu Nakamura.

About the Original Manga
My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked started as a manga series written and illustrated by Otsuji. It began serialization on Ichijinsha’s Comic Pool section on the Pixiv Comic website in November 2020.
The manga has released 9 volumes as of February 2026. The latest volume, volume 8, came out on July 25, 2026. An official English translation is published by Seven Seas Entertainment.
The series has been popular for its warm and funny take on the stepfamily story. It turns the usual wicked stepmother and stepsisters idea on its head. The story is about a girl who expects the worst but finds love and care instead.
