Netflix is getting ready to add another crime drama to its library. The streaming service will release Nemesis on May 14, 2026. This show comes from Courtney A. Kemp, the person who created the very popular Power universe on Starz.

The first trailer dropped on April 12, 2026, and it shows a classic cop versus robber story set in Los Angeles. The show has 8 episodes, and each one runs for 60 minutes.

What is Nemesis About?

The story follows two men who are on different sides of the law. Matthew Law plays Isaiah Stiles, a police detective who is very good at his job. Y’lan Noel plays Coltrane Wilder, a professional criminal who plans big heists.

The official description says the show looks at what happens when a unstoppable force meets a immovable object. Stiles becomes very focused on finding the heist crew that killed his partner. Wilder is planning one last job before he tries to leave the criminal life behind.

The show goes deeper than just catching bad guys. Kemp explained the title’s meaning to Netflix.

“We definitely wanted to address the idea of a nemesis, someone who takes you down because of you. You make all the wrong decisions because of them, and you blow up your whole life by making bad choices.” – Courtney A. Kemp

Tani Marole co-created the series with Kemp and also serves as an executive producer.
