Netflix has added two more actors to its upcoming series based on Dan Brown’s mystery novel The Secret of Secrets. The streaming service announced that Mamadou Athie and Ben Levi Ross have joined the cast in recurring roles. Production on the untitled series has officially started in Prague.
The new series marks the return of Robert Langdon, the famous Harvard symbologist who was previously played by Tom Hanks in three movies. This time, Morgan Spector from The Gilded Age takes on the role.
Two New Actors Join the Growing Cast
Mamadou Athie, known for his work in The Drama and Uncorked, will play Michael Harris. Ben Levi Ross, who has appeared in Ragtime and Elsbeth, will portray Alex Conan.
They are not the only new additions. Netflix also announced three other recurring cast members:
- Anamaria Marinca (Housekeeping for Beginners) as Dr. Gessner
- Richard Sammel (Andor) as Karl Muller
- Elena Saurel (The Agency) as Susan Housemore
These five actors join a cast that already includes several well-known names.

Production Details and Background
The series is a collaboration between Carlton Cuse and Dan Brown. Cuse, known for his work on Lost, Jack Ryan, and Bates Motel, serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Brown is also an executive producer.
The source novel, The Secret of Secrets, was published on September 9, 2025, by Doubleday. It is the sixth book in Brown’s Robert Langdon series. The previous books include Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol, Inferno, and Origin.
Dan Brown’s novels have sold more than 250 million copies in 56 languages. The three movies starring Tom Hanks as Langdon earned about $2.24 billion worldwide.
Filming is taking place in Prague and is expected to continue until at least March 2027. Netflix has not yet announced an official title or premiere date for the series.
