The Elbaf Arc continues to heat up, and One Piece episode 1175 delivered some of the most memorable moments since the Straw Hats arrived on the island of giants. It did not rely on a massive battle to keep things moving, but it still gave Elbaf several moments that made the arc feel like it is heading toward something much bigger. The episode balanced lighter character moments with the darker situation unfolding around the children of Elbaf.
Jinbe’s Heroic Save Steals the Show
The biggest highlight of the episode was easily Jinbe’s intervention when the Elbaf fire brigade could not stop the flames from reaching the sleepwalking giant children. The children, under the influence of Killingham’s abilities, kept marching toward the fire despite everyone begging them to stop. The Elbaf Fire Brigade tried everything to extinguish the flames, but their efforts were not enough.
When all hope seemed lost, a lone savior arrived to turn the tide. Jinbe, the helmsman of the Straw Hat Pirates and former Warlord of the Sea, took an entire sea cloud and used his Umigumo Ipponzeoi (Sea Cloud Shoulder Throw) technique to annihilate the flame. This move completely extinguished the fire before it could reach the children. The visual of Jinbe throwing an entire sea cloud to put out the fire was one of the most impressive moments of the episode.
Zoro, Sanji, and Goldberg Go Hunting
While Jinbe was dealing with the fire, Zoro, Sanji, and Goldberg from the New Giant Warrior Pirates went on a hunting mission. Their goal was to find food for everyone to eat, especially for Loki, who was chained up and hungry. Goldberg eventually found a dinosaur large enough to feed the giants. He used his homie shield to make the dinosaur dizzy by letting it crash into it.
Sanji used his Air Power Kick (Air Walk) to launch Zoro into the air, allowing the swordsman to cut down the dinosaur in one swift move. The hunting team successfully brought back the dinosaur meat. Goldberg carried the main body while Zoro and Sanji carried the tail.
The episode also showed some classic Zoro and Sanji rivalry. The two started arguing and even got into a physical fight, which Gerd found amusing to watch. She had to step in to break them up.
Luffy’s Reckless Kindness Hurts Loki
Back with Luffy and Loki, the scene took a comedic turn. Luffy, being the reckless person he is, tried to give Loki some freshly cooked dinosaur meat and hot soup. But the food was still burning hot, and when Loki ate it, it burned him and added more wounds to his already injured body. Loki complained about the pain, but Luffy kept going. Gerd actually gave Luffy a thumbs up for this, showing that Loki is not very popular among the giants.
Loki’s Flashback: The Rocks D. Xebec Connection
One of the most important parts of One Piece episode 1175 was Loki’s backstory. While eating the food that Zoro, Sanji, and Goldberg prepared, Loki started talking about a pirate he idolized when he was young. This moment was similar to Luffy’s relationship with Shanks.
In a flashback, a young Loki met the pirate he admired. But unlike Shanks, who treated Luffy with kindness, this pirate was cruel. Loki asked to join his crew, but the pirate refused. When Loki challenged him to a fight, the pirate stabbed him with his sword and left him behind. The pirate was seen leaving with Whitebeard, confirming his identity as Rocks D. Xebec. This revelation adds a new layer to Loki’s character and explains why he is the way he is.
The God’s Knights Make Their Move
The God’s Knights continued their attack on Elbaf. Gunko finally decided to come out herself after Jinbe extinguished the fire. She appeared on Colon’s ship, terrifying the young giant. Sommers also got involved, showing that the God’s Knights were not going to give up easily.
Luffy learned from Loki that the ones attacking them were indeed the God’s Knights. Hajrudin thought the God’s Knights were enemies that Loki had made during his past adventures, but Loki clarified that he never even met them before. The God’s Knights simply wanted to enslave Loki and the giants, which is why they came to Elbaf.
The Giant Warrior Pirates Join the Fight
While Luffy and the others were relaxing and eating, the giants continued to fight against the monsters that Killingham created. The Giant Warrior Pirates, including Dorry, Brogy, and Scopper Gaban, helped the giants deal with the wave of monsters. Gaban also helped the Giant Warrior Pirates destroy the monsters that Killingham created. The number of monsters kept increasing, making the situation more dangerous.
What Happened in the Underworld
In the Underworld, Loki continued talking about his past. He mentioned that he was born in the wrong era. He also revealed that he knows information about Shanks, but he was not ready to share it with Luffy and the others because they had not released him yet. This tease about Shanks is something that many fans are excited about.
