The live-action Straw Hat Pirates have officially set their course for the Grand Line. Netflix released a brand new first-look teaser for One Piece Season 2, giving fans their most detailed glimpse yet at the upcoming voyage and, most excitingly, the debut of the beloved crew member Tony Tony Chopper.
The season, officially titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, is scheduled to premiere on March 10, 2026. This new teaser, shown during the Jump Festa 2026 event in Japan, focuses heavily on introducing the CGI-animated Chopper, who will join the crew during the Drum Island story arc.
The centerpiece of the new teaser is Tony Tony Chopper, the reindeer doctor. The footage confirms he will be a fully computer-generated character integrated with the live-action cast. This first look shows Chopper’s expressive face and playful nature, key traits that have made him a fan favorite for over two decades.
Bringing Chopper to life involves two key voice actors. Mikaela Hoover will voice the character in the English-language version of the show. In a special nod to longtime fans, Ikue Otani, the original voice of Chopper from the anime series that began in 1999, will reprise her iconic role for the Japanese dub of the live-action season.
“One Piece season 2 is coming in 2026, and you’ll get to meet new friends, and foes, and me,” Chopper says in the teaser.
Season 2 will cover a significant new portion of the story from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga. The plot will adapt several early arcs from the Arabasta Saga, following the Straw Hats as they leave the East Blue and enter the treacherous Grand Line.
The confirmed story arcs for the new season are:
Netflix has confirmed the season will consist of eight episodes. Joe Tracz, the new co-showrunner for this season, has promised fans can expect “an even more giant Season 2,” suggesting a larger scale in both story and production.
Alongside Chopper, Season 2 will introduce a huge roster of new characters, with Netflix having announced 33 new cast members so far. The main Straw Hat crew returns, with Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
The new adversaries and allies include some major names from the One Piece world. Callum Kerr has been cast as the marine Captain Smoker, who relentlessly chases Luffy. Julia Rehwald will play his subordinate, Tashigi. The powerful Baroque Works organization makes its live-action debut, with agents like Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5 and Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine.
Two of the most notable villain castings are Joe Manganiello as the warlord Crocodile (also known as Mr. 0) and Lera Abova as his partner, Miss All Sunday. Other key new faces include Clive Russell as the lighthouse keeper Crocus, Werner Coetser and Brendan Murray as the giant warriors Dorry and Brogy, and Katey Sagal as the doctor Kureha.
Filming for the second season began in June 2024 and officially wrapped in early February 2025. Netflix marked the end of production by releasing a set photo of the main cast in Loguetown, signaling the show was moving into post-production.
In a major announcement for the future of the series, Netflix has confirmed that One Piece Season 3 is already in production. The third season is planned to adapt the Alabasta Saga, continuing the story for characters like Crocodile and Nico Robin who are introduced in the upcoming season.
The first season of Netflix’s One Piece was a major success, spending eight weeks in the platform’s Global Top 10 and amassing tens of millions of views. The new teaser for Season 2 aims to build on that excitement, promising more adventure, a bigger world, and the long-awaited arrival of the Straw Hats’ doctor.
