Bigg Boss Malayalam 7 contestant Renu Sudhi is in critical condition and has been admitted to the ICU at the Government Medical College in Kottayam, Kerala. The social media personality, whose real name is Reshma P Thankachen, has completed five rounds of chemotherapy in her fight against stage 3 breast cancer. Her friend and fellow contestant Sarika KB shared the news in an emotional video on Instagram, revealing that Renu’s platelet count has dropped drastically and that doctors have said she cannot handle another round of chemotherapy.
Renu Sudhi Admitted to Kottayam Medical College ICU
Sarika KB, who also appeared on Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7, posted a video on Instagram to update followers about Renu’s condition. She said Renu’s elder sister called her to share the news that Renu had been admitted to the ICU. “Reality is often a bit bitter. I am here to tell you about a bitter reality,” Sarika said in the video. She continued, “The condition of my dear friend Renu is very, very bad. She is in a critical condition. Her platelet count has dropped drastically. She has been admitted to the hospital”.
The update came just days after Renu had shared on Instagram that she was undergoing her fifth chemotherapy session, writing, “5th chemo before my last chemo #renusudhi”. Her previous posts suggested she was nearing the end of her treatment, which makes the sudden decline especially alarming for those following her journey.
Doctor Says Renu Cannot Withstand Another Chemo Round
Sarika explained in her video that the fifth chemotherapy session hit Renu much harder than the previous four. “After each round of chemotherapy, she used to vomit even plain water. Yet, until the fourth chemotherapy, she would lie down for ten days and then jump up, make videos, and reply to us. But this time, even ten days after the fifth chemotherapy, she hasn’t been able to get up,” Sarika shared.
She also revealed that the hospital has informed the family that a sixth round of chemotherapy is not possible. “The doctor has said that Renu cannot withstand another round of chemotherapy, and that the hospital authorities cannot take such a risk”. A PICC line has been inserted, and she is unable to eat, with an alternative feeding method attached to her body. Sarika ended her video asking everyone to pray for Renu’s recovery.

I kept this hidden from those who love me all this time. But now, I feel it is time to speak out”.
She also revealed that the cancer had reached stage 3 and had spread to her heart muscles and lungs, describing her condition as serious. Renu admitted she was initially reluctant to begin treatment due to fear and the pain she had experienced during a previous appendix surgery. She also spoke about the financial burden, saying she had no one to help her with money.
“When I learned about the illness, my first thought was, ‘Oh God, why did you do this to me?’ It is true that before a disease strikes, many premonitions enter our minds. I felt in my heart that something (bad) was coming. Ultimately, everything is destiny.”
Renu also used her diagnosis to urge young women to take their health seriously. “To all girls… if you notice a painless lump in your body, please pay attention. See a doctor. Do not ignore it just because it doesn’t hurt,” she said.
