Yet, some can’t forget Sofia Carson’s history with BTS in light of the collab news.

Sofia Carson, who is known for Disney‘s The Descendants, Pretty Little Liars, and Netflix‘s Purple Hearts, met BTS at The 2019 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs). At the time, Sofia Carson received backlash from netizens as she suddenly jumped into a group photo with BTS, even touching J-Hope‘s shoulder while they were taking their pictures on the red carpet. Netizens believed it was a “clout-chasing” move, as the members appeared confused, as she had no affiliation with them prior.

Sofia Carson also covered BTS’s hit song “Boy With Luv” at The 2019 Radio Disney Music Celebration (previously known as the Radio Disney Music Awards). At the time, she was criticized yet again, as she chose to sing only the English language parts of “Boy With Luv.”

Additionally, ARMYs remembered that Jimin’s fellow BTS member Jin actually has an unexpected connection to another Descendents star. Jin and Mitchell Hope, known for portraying Ben (the son of Beast and Belle), were classmates when Jin was an exchange student in Australia.
