The story takes place in a world where mysterious portals called Gates connect different dimensions to the real world. Special humans called Hunters possess unique abilities. The main character, Sung Jinwoo, starts as the weakest Hunter, known as “the weakest weapon of mankind”. He later gains a unique ability to increase his power endlessly, rising to become the strongest Hunter.
The Solo Leveling anime made its debut in January 2024. Season 2, titled Arise from the Shadow, followed about a year later. The first season won Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025.
The series has gathered over 650 billion page views on Japan’s digital manga and novel platform Piccoma. Additionally, Volume 25 of the series became the number one bestseller in Japan according to the Billboard Book Hot 100.
