South Park is skipping its usual Wednesday slot to deliver a special Halloween episode this Friday. Titled “The Woman in the Hat,” the episode will tackle President Donald Trump’s recent demolition of the White House’s East Wing, featuring the return of his fictional romantic partner, Satan.
The show’s official logline states that the episode will see “The White House deals with a disruptive spirit from the east wing” while series regular “Stan worries that South Park has become too political.” A preview image shows Trump and Satan wearing hard hats and overseeing the demolition, a direct parody of the real-life event where the 123-year-old East Wing was torn down to make way for a new ballroom.
Episode Details and Release Schedule
This special Halloween installment is the second episode of South Park’s 28th season, which premiered unexpectedly on October 15. Instead of airing on its typical Wednesday, the episode will premiere on Friday, October 31, at 10 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
For viewers who prefer to stream, the episode will be available on Paramount+ the following day, November 1. After this special, new episodes will return to their bi-weekly Wednesday schedule, with dates currently set for November 12, November 26, and December 10.
The Spooky Plot and Political Jabs
“The Woman in the Hat” continues several storylines from the current season. The season premiere established that Satan is pregnant with Trump’s baby, a storyline that previously drew a furious statement from the real White House. A White House spokesperson said the show “hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years” and is making “uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”
The Halloween episode will also feature other Trump administration figures, including Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller, who appear to be haunted by a ghostly presence. Another teaser for the episode simply describes it as “terrifying.”
This is not the first time South Park has done a Halloween-themed episode. The show’s history includes classic Halloween specials like “Pinkeye” from its first season, where a zombie outbreak hits the town. “The Woman in the Hat” marks the show’s first Halloween episode since 2019.
A Chaotic Season 28
The new season has been marked by unexpected changes. The show’s 27th season ended abruptly after only five episodes, despite an initial order for ten. Season 28 then premiered without warning, picking up right where the previous season left off.
The season premiere, which aired on October 15, featured billionaire Peter Thiel arriving in South Park to warn about the coming anti-christ. This storyline intertwined with Eric Cartman becoming hysterically obsessed with a “6, 7” TikTok-style fad, leading to a parody of the film The Exorcist.
With its quick production turnaround allowing it to satire current events, South Park’s Halloween special is poised to blend supernatural scares with sharp political humor, all while one of its own characters questions if the show has become too political.
