What Happened in Star Detective Precure Episode 23
Episode 23 continued the mystery of Cure Eclair’s true identity. The episode focused on Kurea Howa, a patissier (pastry chef) who became the third candidate for Cure Eclair.
In this episode, Luluka Moria, who is Cure Arcana Shadow, dines at Patisserie ChuChu where Kurea works. Kurea delivers an order to the Star Detectives. Anna and Mikuru discover that fragrance may be the key to restoring lost memories.
Luluka also hands a Phantom Thief calling card to Kurea, targeting a certain photo in the Patisserie. This episode presented the most compelling case for Kurea being Cure Eclair compared to the previous two candidates. The key reason was that Kurea actually got to have meaningful interactions with Luluka, which did not happen with the earlier candidates.
Lilies played an important role in this episode, tying in with the fragrance theme. Lilies represent purity in flower language. By the end of the episode, Kurea figures out that Luluka is Cure Arcana Shadow.
