Netflix has dropped the first official trailer for Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2, giving fans a look at the Hawkins Investigators Club’s next supernatural case. The animated spin-off returns on September 17, 2026, with eight new episodes that take the young heroes on a ghostly adventure set around Valentine’s Day.
The trailer shows the gang facing a new kind of terror. Strange glowing flowers start appearing across Hawkins in the middle of winter. These beautiful blue blooms carry a dark secret from the Upside Down. The crew soon discovers that ghostly apparitions and creatures called “hate sprites” are causing chaos throughout the town.
Hawkins Investigators Club Returns With a Spooky Valentine’s Day Case
Season 2 picks up right after the events of Season 1. The gang — Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Nikki — tries to return to normal life. They spend time at the Palace Arcade, work on Hawkins Investigators Club missions, and get ready for Valentine’s Day festivities.
But things take a strange turn when mysterious flowers start popping up everywhere. Showrunner Eric Robles explained the situation to Netflix’s Tudum:
“We think that the kids are going back to their normal lives, but we start to discover that these flowers are popping up all over Hawkins.”
The flowers look pretty on the outside, but they hold a supernatural secret. To make matters worse, Nikki and Max come up with a plan to sell the flowers across Hawkins, which spreads the problem even further.
The official logline for Season 2 states: “With Valentine’s Day on the way, the gang must uncover the truth behind ghostly apparitions and a swarm of strange creatures causing chaos around town”.
New Trailer Shows Ghostly Threats and Abandoned Mines
The 120-second trailer opens with the Hawkins Investigators Club running through the woods. They enter a ruined cabin and find something dangerous waiting for them. Dustin declares that his team is the “first line of defense against paranormal threats to our town”.
The footage introduces the main mystery when Nikki, Eleven, and Max find glowing flowers that suddenly appear in the cold winter. The trailer also shows eerie glowing fields, ghostly apparitions, and a dangerous threat hiding in an abandoned mine.
One brief scene shows the apparitions controlling a driverless truck carrying wood toward the crew. The team learns that the flowers are connected to a paranormal threat spreading across the town. The flowers even have “Upside Down all over them”.
The usual methods fail to stop this new danger. Even Eleven’s powers appear unable to stop it. The trailer ends with the team facing huge ghostly monsters.
The show will explore new locations this season. Robles teased:
“What’s really exciting is we’re going to go places that we haven’t been to before. There’s a mine in Hawkins that we haven’t explored yet.”
