Sydney Sweeney checked off a major New York City bucket list item over the weekend. The “Euphoria” star made her first-ever trip to Times Square, thanks to a spontaneous late-night adventure with boyfriend Scooter Braun.
The couple turned a quiet Saturday night into an unexpected outing after Sweeney admitted she had never experienced one of Manhattan’s most famous spots. Braun, 44, shared the whole adventure on Instagram, giving fans a look at their low-key date.
“When you’re in bed at 11pm and your girl says ‘I’ve never been to Times Square….’ 😂,” Braun wrote in the video caption.
Couple Goes Undercover for Times Square Trip
The Instagram Reel showed the pair riding rented Citi Bikes through New York streets. Sweeney, 28, wore a blue hoodie, jeans, and black sunglasses to stay under the radar. Braun kept it casual in a gray hoodie and baseball cap.
The video captured Sweeney laughing as she took her feet off the bike pedals. “N.Y.C. baby … Hey Syd,” Braun said while turning the camera toward her.
The couple stopped for cheeseburgers during their ride. Braun asked Sweeney how the food tasted. “Good!” she responded simply.
Once they reached Times Square, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” played in the background. Sweeney sang along while walking through the crowded tourist area surrounded by flashing billboards.
Special Billboard Moment for the Actress
The trip had a special surprise waiting in Times Square. Braun took Sweeney to see her own American Eagle billboard for her campaign called “Syd for Short.”
Sweeney beamed at the camera while holding Braun’s hand in front of the giant digital display. “Sweet!” she said as Braun zoomed out to show the billboard. The couple also checked out another one of her ads on a different screen nearby.
Sweeney commented on Braun’s post with emojis: “🤷🏼♀️🥰🥰❤️.”
The “Syd for Short” campaign is personal for the actress. “Everyone back home and my friends and my family, they know me as Syd,” she told People in April. “Getting to show that side of my personality with American Eagle is really special for me.”
Braun Opens Up About Relationship and ‘Euphoria’
The Times Square outing came just days after Braun publicly discussed his relationship with Sweeney for the first time. During an appearance on Suzy Weiss’ “Second Thought” podcast, the music executive talked about watching her on HBO’s “Euphoria.”

Braun also described Sweeney in glowing terms during the interview. “I’ve met an extraordinary woman who is kind and generous and smart, and real and down to earth,” he said. He called their relationship “one of the biggest surprises ever.”
A source told Page Six that Braun fully supports Sweeney’s acting career, including her more provocative scenes on “Euphoria.” “Scooter has absolutely no issue with Sydney’s more provocative scenes in ‘Euphoria’ or any of the work she does as an actress,” the insider said. “He fully understands that it’s part of her job and respects how dedicated she is to her craft.”
How the Couple’s Romance Began
Braun and Sweeney first met in June 2025 while attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Venice, Italy. They kept things quiet for several months.
By September 2025, a source told People the pair were “casually” hooking up. But things changed by December. “Scooter and Sydney are going strong and things between them are great,” an insider said at the time. “They’re in a committed relationship and things are serious.”
The couple went public with their romance earlier this year after appearing together in photos from the 2026 Stagecoach Music Festival in Southern California.

The couple has been slowly blending their lives together. A source told Us Weekly in April that they are “the real deal” and their relationship has “become very serious.”
“Sydney is a hopeless romantic at heart and likes being in a committed relationship,” the insider said.
Braun has introduced Sweeney to his three children — sons Jagger, 11, and Levi, 9, and daughter Hart, 7 — whom he shares with ex-wife Yael Cohen. Sweeney has also had Braun meet her brother Trent, who “thinks he is a great guy.”
Sweeney ended her engagement to fiancé Jonathan Davino in early 2025 after nearly seven years together. Braun filed for divorce from Cohen in 2021, which was finalized in 2022.
