Collaboration and Creative Input
T.O.P. emphasized the collaborative process with the director in shaping Thanos’ character. He mentioned a particularly memorable aspect: the rap segment during Thanos’ introduction. “Originally, the rap section was longer, but I edited it myself to make it more impactful,” he explained. This edit proved successful, creating a memorable entrance for Thanos.
Beyond the rap, T.O.P. also contributed to Thanos’ visual design. “I wanted his nails to resemble Infinity Stones, so I chose vibrant colors for the nail art. The director loved the idea, and it added a unique flair to Thanos’ appearance,” he shared.
Key Scene Development and Reunion
T.O.P. revealed that the scene where Thanos circles to determine the number of game participants was the director’s idea. “That scene was entirely the director’s vision, and it perfectly captured Thanos’ calculated and commanding nature,” he said.
Working with Lee Byung Hun, who plays the Front Man, was another highlight for T.O.P. “It was meaningful to work with him again after our time on ‘Iris.’ It brought a sense of nostalgia and significance to our scenes together,” he reflected.
Thanos’ Death and Final Thoughts
T.O.P. also commented on Thanos’ dramatic death scene, where he is stabbed with a fork in a bathroom. “I think the timing of Thanos’ death was perfect. It had the right amount of impact and left a strong impression,” he stated.
Reflecting on his overall experience, T.O.P. said, “It was an incredible experience to bring Thanos to life and see how people have reacted. I’m proud of what we achieved.”
