Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy Take Charge of My Heart has dropped a fresh batch of stills that show Chae Soo Bin and Kim Young Kwang growing closer under a three-month “charging contract” — while new characters quietly circle their budding relationship. The new images, released on September 25, 2026, put the spotlight on the forced intimacy between the two leads and introduce the rivals who are about to make things far more complicated before the series premieres globally on October 9.
A Charging Contract That Brings Two Unlikely People Together
The series is based on a Naver web novel by author Haebeon and tells the story of Baek Ho Rang (Kim Young Kwang), a third-generation chaebol heir and executive director at TS Resort, whose artificial heart is running out of battery. His only hope is Na Bo Bae (Chae Soo Bin), a drama writer who gained the ability to generate electricity after being struck by lightning as a child. Because of her powers, she has spent her whole life avoiding physical contact with others — until she meets Ho Rang, the one person who does not get shocked when he touches her.
The two enter a three-month “charging contract” built on mutual need. He requires regular physical contact to keep his heart working until a follow-up surgery, and she needs someone who can tolerate her electric touch. In one of the newly released stills, Ho Rang holds Bo Bae close while checking his heart rate, treating the embrace as both a medical necessity and something more. In another, a sleepy Bo Bae holds his hand, showing how physical contact has become a normal part of their daily lives.
Kim Young Kwang previously shared why the unusual premise drew him in. “‘Take Charge of My Heart’ is a comic-book-like romance with the unique premise of an artificial heart running out of power and being recharged through physical contact,” he said. “I was drawn to the pure-romance, comic-like premise and atmosphere”.
Chae Soo Bin described her character’s struggles with everyday life. She wanted to show Bo Bae’s tendency to avoid causing inconvenience to others because of her electric ability, whether by covering her hands or keeping her distance.

The first major complication arrives in the form of Ji Eun Ho, played by rising actor Cha Woo Min. Ji Eun Ho is a top star active in films, dramas, and variety shows, and he happens to be Na Bo Bae’s number one fan. The fourth major rival is Han Seol Hee, played by Shin Do Hyun. As the head of Hanlim Planning, Seol Hee is a determined woman who is willing to obtain whatever she sets her sights on. Her interest lands squarely on Baek Ho Rang, placing her directly across from the arrangement already binding him to Na Bo Bae. She is expected to become another significant variable in their relationship.
The Full Cast Rounding Out The Story
Beyond the four central figures complicating the romance, several other characters add depth to the world of Take Charge of My Heart.
Heo Dong Won plays Yoon Jae Ho, the chief secretary who works closely with Baek Ho Rang and has a front-row seat to both the failing heart and the people circling his boss. Kim Mi Kyung takes on the role of Gong Man Seol, the TS Group chairwoman, while Kim Hye Eun plays Baek Kyung Jin, Ho Rang’s aunt and the president of TS Hotel.
Yang Hyun Min appears as director Yeom Min Gyu, who gives the single drama writer Na Bo Bae the mission of writing a “steamy adult romance” — a task that becomes increasingly complicated as her own love life heats up. Kim Ah Young plays Jo Seo Jung, Bo Bae’s best friend who knows all of her secrets.
Gong Min Jung makes a special appearance as Na Ji Hye, Bo Bae’s older sister and a former national taekwondo gold medalist.
What The Leads Have Said About Working Together
The chemistry between Kim Young Kwang and Chae Soo Bin has been a talking point since the project was announced. Kim Young Kwang said they had so much fun filming that there was hardly a moment when they were not laughing. He credited Chae Soo Bin with doing such a natural job with the romantic comedy that it made his own approach to the role much more comfortable.
Chae Soo Bin described the project as one that takes the familiar appeal of romantic comedies and charges it with its own lovable charm. She explained that she wanted to show Bo Bae’s tendency to avoid causing inconvenience to others because of her electric ability.
In a Cosmopolitan Korea interview, Kim Young Kwang explained that he had been doing heavy and intense projects like Trigger and Call It Love, and naturally started to want to do a romantic comedy again. When he first read the script, it felt like reading a pure romance manhwa. “My immediate thought was, ‘Yes, this is the project I’ve been waiting for!’” he said.
Chae Soo Bin admitted she was initially worried because the project has many unrealistic elements, but her concerns vanished once filming began because the process was so enjoyable.
