Back in the present, Yuuki stole the body of the past Chronoa from Luminous’s vault, and Gran revived it. The revived Chronoa was no longer a hero with a conscious mind. She became a mindless embodiment of destruction with overwhelming power.

The new episode picks up with Chronoa fully unsealed and operating as a pure force of destruction. She is not a hero. She has no awareness. She is simply a weapon of mass destruction that cannot be reasoned with.
To stand against her, Rimuru has to use a trump card that he has been holding back. What that card is and how it changes the battlefield will be the core of the episode.
The broader Season 4 story continues to build toward the clash between Tempest and the Rozzo family. Granbell Rosso, the former hero who leads the Five Elders of the Kingdom of Siltrozzo, and his granddaughter Mariabel Rosso see Demon Lord Rimuru as a threat and are working behind the scenes to stop him.
Meanwhile, in the Golden City of Eldorado, Demon Lord Leon Cromwell is making his own moves toward a goal that has been set aside for a long time. The paths of these different factions are starting to collide, and Episode 22 is where some of those collisions begin.
