The family drama keeps getting bigger. James Forsyte is not happy about his nephew Jo possibly taking over the family business. So he starts a secret plan to push Jo out for good. At the same time, Soames Forsyte makes a bold move with Irene Heron that leaves the whole family speechless. The episode, which first aired on November 3, 2025, packs a lot of secrets, betrayals, and surprising moments.
James Builds a Case Against Jo
James sees a chance to get rid of Jo. He learns about Jo’s past relationship with Louisa Byrne and the twins they had together. James thinks this secret is the perfect weapon to make Jo look bad in front of the company board.
James tells his son Soames about his plan. He wants to bring up the issue at the next board meeting. James believes that Jo’s behavior from the past makes him unfit to be the chairman. He also hopes to get Jo completely removed from Forsyte & Co.
Soames does not fully support the sneaky plan. He tells his father that he wants to earn the chairman position based on his own work, not through family tricks. But James promises to handle everything without getting Soames directly involved.
Soames Shocks the Family with Irene
The Epsom races become the setting for a big family surprise. Everyone expects Soames to bring Olivia Carteret as his guest. The family members are eager to see her and think an engagement is coming soon.
But Soames walks in with Irene instead. He does not just bring her as a date. He shows off an engagement ring on her finger. The Forsyte family sits in complete shock. They do not know what to say.
Things get even more awkward when Irene tries to talk about her background. She starts to say that her people were “no one of consequence.” She also mentions that her mother worked as a dancer. Soames cuts her off before she can explain more. He does not want the family to judge her.
Family Members React Differently
Emily Forsyte, Soames’ mother, feels happy for her son. She even admits to feeling a bit envious that he is getting married for love. But James feels the opposite. He clearly does not approve of Irene or the quick wedding plans.
Soames wants to get married in just two weeks. After the wedding, he plans to take Irene to Paris. Irene wants to go back to her ballet training there. She hopes to restart her dancing career.
Ann Forsyte, the family matriarch, sees everything clearly. She tells Irene that Soames has never been in love before. Ann warns that he will spoil Irene without limits. Irene admits that she is not fully in love yet, but she feels hopeful that love will grow.
Jo Stands His Ground at the Board Meeting
The board meeting becomes a battlefield. James brings up the rumors about Jo having children outside of marriage. But Jo does not try to hide anything. He stands up and admits the truth in front of everyone.
Jo explains the whole situation. He tells the board that he wants to support his children financially. He also says he is not ashamed of them at all. Then he walks out and lets the board vote on his future with the company.
Ann steps in at a key moment. She brings up secrets that other family members have kept hidden. Her words make her own sons look away in shame. The board ends up voting to let Jo stay. Frances, Jo’s wife, feels very happy about this result.
Jo’s Marriage Faces New Problems
After the vote, Frances thinks they can finally move on. She believes Jo will now forget about Louisa and the children. But Jo tells his wife something she does not want to hear. He says he loved Louisa.
Frances gives Jo a hard choice. She tells him that his love for Louisa has no place in their home. She says he must “kill it or face the consequences.” The episode ends with this threat hanging over their marriage.
