AMC+ and Shudder are getting ready to drop the third season of their horror anthology series The Terror: Devil in Silver on May 7, 2026. This six-episode limited series brings a fresh nightmare to screens, this time set inside a psychiatric hospital where nothing is what it seems.
The show follows Pepper, a working-class man who ends up locked in New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital after a mix of bad luck and a quick temper. But the real horror starts when he realizes the hospital hides dark secrets, dangerous patients, and maybe something far worse than any human threat.
Ridley Scott serves as executive producer, with Karyn Kusama (Yellowjackets) directing the first two episodes. The show comes from showrunners Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire) and Victor LaValle, who also wrote the 2013 novel The Devil in Silver that this season is based on.

Dan Stevens Takes the Lead as Pepper
Dan Stevens stars as Pepper, the main character who gets wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. Stevens is no stranger to horror fans, having appeared in The Guest, Abigail, and the Godzilla x Kong movies. But many know him best from his early days as Matthew Crawley on Downton Abbey or as the Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
Pepper arrives at the hospital after a fight lands him in police custody. Instead of jail, he gets sent to New Hyde. Once inside, he quickly learns that patients are scheming against each other, doctors hide terrible truths, and a mysterious evil entity roams the halls.

Judith Light Brings Mystery as Dorry
Judith Light plays Dorry, an older woman Pepper meets inside New Hyde. The trailer shows her as a mysterious figure who seems to know more about the hospital than she lets on.
Light has built an incredible career spanning decades. She became a household name on Who’s the Boss? and One Life to Live, winning two Daytime Emmy Awards for her soap opera work. More recently, she appeared in The Menu, Julia, and Before.
Aasif Mandvi Portrays the Secretive Dr. Anand
Aasif Mandvi takes on the role of Dr. Anand, a doctor at New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. In the trailer, Dr. Anand warns Pepper that he is not ready for what is coming. The character appears to hold knowledge about the hospital’s dark side but keeps his own secrets close.
Mandvi is widely known for his time as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. His acting credits include Evil, Million Dollar Arm, This Way Up, and the HBO movie The Wizard of Lies.
CCH Pounder Plays Nurse Miss Chris
CCH Pounder joins the cast as Miss Chris, a hospital staff member. In the teaser trailer, she brings medicine to Pepper. After he takes it, his vision blurs and strange things start happening.
Pounder has been a reliable presence on television for years. She starred as Detective Claudette Wyms on The Shield and voiced the memorable character Amanda Waller in multiple DC animated projects. Her live-action work also includes NCIS: New Orleans and the film Avatar.
Hampton Fluker Appears as Scotch Tape
Hampton Fluker plays a character named Scotch Tape. Details about his role remain limited, but he appears to work as a medical professional at New Hyde.
Fluker has appeared in Chicago Med, the Oscar-winning film The Blind Side, and the Boston Marathon bombing drama Patriots Day.
