Alice arrives leading the town’s adventurers, and Rex and his party join as well, signaling the start of their counterattack. However, on the brink of victory, a mysterious weapon of despairing size named “Messiah” appears. As people flee in panic from its overwhelming power, Kagami stands alone against it.
Furthermore, Estellar, a close aide to the Demon King, arrives and begins to reveal part of the “system of the world.” The reason Kagami reached Level 999 and the true enemy he seeks to defeat are finally brought to light.
A new character, Douglas (the Demon King), made his appearance in Episode 5, voiced by Ken’yū Horiuchi. Douglas is a character born with enormous magical power.
About the Series
The Villager of Level 999 is set in a world called Earthclear, where everyone is born into a fixed role. From warriors, martial artists, and priests, to mages, thieves, merchants, hunters, shamans, kings, sages, and heroes—there are many callings. Yet, there is one role that boasts the largest population, lacks any real power, and is considered the absolute weakest of them all—the “Villager”.
Koji Kagami was born as a villager, the weakest class with no combat skills or magic. Most villagers never go beyond Level 5. But Koji did not accept his fate. He spent years hunting monsters and training. Through pure determination and patience, he reached Level 999, something that should be impossible for someone of his class.
During a monster hunt, Koji met Alice, the daughter of the Demon King. In most fantasy stories, this would mean an automatic battle between humans and demons. But Koji and Alice discover they share an impossible dream: coexistence between humans and demons. Together with their companions, they set out to achieve this goal.
The series comes from animation studio Brain’s Base. Yoshinobu Kasai is directing the anime. Shinzō Fujita is in charge of series composition. Kentarō Matsumoto is handling the character design, and Hiroshi Nakamura is composing the music.
The opening theme song “Not a Hero” is performed by Nakuru Aitsuki and Itsuki Natsume. The ending theme song “HP” is performed by Yukimura.
