The cast for The White Lotus Season 4 is one of the biggest yet. Helena Bonham Carter leads the group of new guests. French actor Vincent Cassel joins her, along with British comedian Steve Coogan. Mike White writes and directs every episode himself, which adds to the wait time. But HBO renewed the show for season four back in January 2025, even before season three aired, showing strong confidence in the series. Season three pulled in 12.2 million viewers per episode on average, a 78 percent jump from season two.
The hotels chosen for filming offer real luxury. Suites at the Château de la Messardière can cost between $3,000 to $8,000 per night. This matches the show’s tradition of using real high-end resorts as characters in the story. Past seasons used the Four Seasons properties in Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand. HBO has not renewed its contract with Four Seasons for season four, opening up new options.
Mike White also shared that the tone for season four might feel different. He told Elle magazine the new season will be “fun and funnier” compared to the heavier themes of season three, which explored death and Eastern religion. But he also promised there is “always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”
